Have a 400 cfm inline fan and carbon filter combo inside a 4x4x7 tent exhausting into a 30x50 foot basement. There is some noticeable odor in the basement with one of the autos into about week 3 of flower. Carbon filter problem?

Aussie? Come say Gday in the aussie growers thread.I got this fan filter combo. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B00DIH7TL0/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It is 3 months old.
Air is sucked through the filter, light hood, into the fan and through ducting outside. Two intake vents are opened at opposite sides of the tent and looking at the tent when door is closed, it concaves in which indicates negative pressure. Occasionally an intake fan of about half the strength of the exhaust will bring in fresh air from outside but it only turns on after a certain temp threshold is exceeded.
Unfortunately I'm a Canadian but brothership. The smell is starting to emanate around the entire house and even outside so I would have to say that it's not only when the fan kicks in which is probably about 3 hours a day. I assume that the filter can handle the fan at full strength as they were paired together and the smell coming out of the exhaust seems fairly neutral I guessAussie? Does the smell only escape when the air intake fan kicks in?
Could the fan be to powerful and its not giving the filter enough time to work properly?
If the fan is overpowering the filter then that's your problem. I'd check that after checking all connections if you can. In particular the light hood (they can suck some air in and bypass the filter).Unfortunately I'm a Canadian but brothership. Leak checking..idk...wet finger and see if you get a cold draught over it??I'm not sure the best method for leak checking the connections. How would I tell if the filter is being overpowered? Will get to this later today after sleep
