Smart Pots

Im curious if anyone has any experience with Smart Pots when used indoors.
Will plants benefit from the smart pots over the regular plastic pots?
The thing with the smart pot is that its shorter but wider, it uses a fabric so the soil gets aerated better. The regular plastic pots are taller and narrower. I would love to see a grow comparison between the two.

I've seen them work pretty well in a few different grows on here. Never used them myself yet, but definitely intrigued by them. Another interesting pot design you might want to check out is "Hempy pots". Very interesting concept, and works w amazing results when done properly, and are very cost effective as its a diy design.

search for the hempy collective on google.....

smart pots are perfect for soil outdoors.
never tried one in hempy, or indoors
i dont have any pics from them though... i honestly dont think you see and major improvement to plant size/yield, however for the novice grower, there pretty nice, as the increased aeration tends to prevent a few things that will stump a typical novice... (compaction, fungal/bacteriological infections, ie root rot, etc etc)
advice on hempy- dont use organic teas unless you are prepared to battle the stench of the shit sitting in the bucket rez. especially alaska fish emultion ;)

I have been inundated with their literature for years now, and they do work, but primarily the advantage is for root pruning TREES.

I think you will find better results from "rootmaker" or "accelerator" 3/5/7 gallon containers.

Here's a free growing tip for the southern growers. If you feel your containers are getting too hot (which inhibits root growth and health), simply take your 3 gallon plant and slip it into either a 5 or 7 container and fill the space between with sand/pebbles. Instant insulation.

I saw these in a hydro store - the guy working there said they do some sort of "automatic root pruning" which prevents the plant from becoming rootbound. I don't know, however, if I'm a believer in "rootbound" being a problem rather than other things like light, nutes, etc.
