Smart pots need more watering - more nutes? Worth it?

i run smart/fabric pots. I don't think they are game changers. You have to water them slowly to avoid water seeping out the sides. I've noticed a lot of root growth in the first few inches, seem to hog the root growth. That is the only concern i have about them. The tap root doesn't seem to go down like it does outside, IME

I am a new convert to them. I found that when I used standard garden pots, I often got roots circling in the lower half of the pot and not much happening in the upper half. But with the smart pots, I see massive roots at the top of the soil line and many fiberous roots, as well. I will say, though, is that for every size of garden pot that I used to use, I will get the the next larger size Smart Pot. I wish now that I had gotten some 10 gallon ones instead of just the 5 gallons.

I used them and 5 gal buckets and never really noticed a differance in the plants. I only use them because they are shorter than 5 gal buckets so I can grow my plants that much bigger.

I just water once a day (I work 12 hrs a day )untill the water comes out and I just let it sit in the excess water, it eventually soaks back up.
