Smart Plugs

I searched around and I don't really see anybody talking about this. For a while now I've relied on the typical mechanical and/or digital plug timers but for Christmas my buddy got me these:

and they're awesome!

You can set schedules or manually control the lights with an app. I love that you can remotely see what's on/off. Also, they give a wattage reading and even breaks it down to kw/h. I was skeptical of the accuracy but for frame of reference, they registered exactly 260w with my QB260v2 turned up to full crank.

I've been keeping a watchful eye on them but just switched all irrigation over to them too. At $40 for 4 they're no more expensive than the old school timers, they have way more features and flexibility, and they take up less room on your power strips. Anyway, if anyone had been thinking of using something like these, so far I'm happy af. Only negative, 2.4ghz only but my router is dual band so I have two networks anyway. If anything fails, I'll update.

I’ll have to get me some of these. I’ll have to check my router first though as I’m not sure if mine is dual band or just 5ghz.

Im using sonoff's which are very similiar, these look much smaller and are cheaper and i need a few more, thx for the listing, have you have any trouble connecting or any thing

No issues whatsoever thus far. I never looked into amperage limitations though so that's something to consider if you're rocking a massive lamp
