Small Grow Set Up

My girlfriend and I are operating on very limited space due to the risk of our land lords maintenance staff, unrestricted access into home (the house is owned by a neighboring apartment complex). That said, we are looking to set up our first grow as we don't have the patience to wait another 20 months before we can purchase our house and do it right.

Do you have any recommendations or tips/tricks (or resources to such) as to how to best go about this? For example, what is a short strain (hardy too! This is our first grow after all)? How many plants are the smallest of lights in the industry suitable for? What is the ideal lighting system for such a small amount of plants?

I understand I will need some sort of enclosure to control temperature and humidity beyond the benefits of the direct lighting. I will build such. Knowing I will need space for ventilation systems, are there any suggestions you would have for such confined enclosures?

The short of it; what strains are both hardy and short growing. What is the minimum lighting system I can get away with and how many plants can even the smallest lighting system support, and any recommendations to ventilation and temperature control.

I've watched many videos on creating proper grow rooms, and I will get to that stage, but any assistance the community is able to offer for small, discrete growing, will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
