Small fungus gnat problem.

Can I feed seedlings bti mosquito bit tea? What is your guys opinion on this kind of thing? I have placed dte on top layer and sprayed outside of pots with 4-1 ratio of 3% peroxide in a fogger and killed a few instantly.

So everything sounds awesome but what about the perlite as I'm in happy frog and not coco?
your roots can still breath through the perlite cant see why not, if hand watering be gentle so it dont mix with the soil the perlite drys out quick and not your soil
its a thin layer it makes it easy to see when to spray again as they fighting tiny bits of perlite i dont recommend that DE stuff

I thought the same thing but always good to make sure and I'll take your advice and run with it , not an infestation yet but better to attack early before shit hits the fan lol

I had an infestation of FGs like you would read about in the Bible. I finally got rid of the problem with a twice a wee drench of the powdered stuff. It’s not cheap but it works,

Microb lift bmc 2-3 drops to a gallon of water. Water your plants with it in till the gnats are gone.

When I make soil now I include a bio insecticide in the mix, it keeps you ahead of the game. Plus Ive used about 1 1/2 inches of sand on the top of my soil for years and it works perfectly fine with no adverse effects whatsoever besides happier plants from not being gnat infested. They cant get through the sand, thats why I like play sand its just fine enough. I also use fabric pots so the plants can breath just fine. Many people say dont use sand for this reason or that but I honestly think its just an echo chamber from bad advice they read over the years and the grow supply industry pushing for more expensive routes. I also read alot people say not to use play sand. Thats mostly all I use unless I cant find it then Ill just get some other cheap brand sand, same shit. A layer of sand on the top of your soil can prevent alot of headaches in a grow. Dont use that horticultural sand crap or anything else that they try to sell at an inflated price because its "made for plants" just plain old play sand from home depot for $6 for 50lbs

The best and easiest answer would be mosquito dunks. Water with them, put them in your reservoir.

My partner was always getting them in her household plants. Since me, problem gone.

I buy the dunks in mass quantity, take a bunch of them in a freezer bag and smash them up with a hammer. Then place 1-2 tablespoons in the medium (I use promix) and water as normal. Over time the bT is released, and the gnats die off.
