Small desk fan is a little too powerful

Hey guys,

I purchased a small desk fan and the slow setting is actually a little too powerful and I'm having trouble with it as I'm using it to circulate the air.

Does anyone know if it's possible to modify it so that it runs a little slower than it currently is? If there isn't any easy way of doing this I'll just have to purchase another from somewhere.

It's pretty damn small so I was not expecting it to be as powerful as it is.

if you cant move it back or put it on "swivel" try facing it to the side so its not blowing directly on them. the best IMO is having it on swivel so its like wind gusting here and there.

What i've done in the same situation is to put a little bit of cardboard (or whatever works) in front of the fan. This will rederect the air so its not directly hitting the plant, but still cools it down. I think you would get similar results if you put something right behind the fan also. It won't necessarily slow the fan down, but it should slow down the tornado in there, lol.

If you are using a computer PSU it is more possible that the psu is sending 12v to the fan instead of the 5v you want it to be sending.

The psu has four wires, should be Yellow, black, red, black.

The black are both passive or negative ... if I remember correctly you should just swap the red and the yellow wires.

You can also buy a computer fan controller...
