Slow/stunted growth. First dwc

Your containers are separate correct? Did you use the same testers and equipment eg. PH, TDS going from one to another? I'm thinking this is a root problem likely pythium but not 100% sure.

Seperate containers yes. And same equipment. I take water out with a glass, test and discard

There is some sort of smell yes.. in the overall room as opposed to an individual res.
The pics are different plants..
The darker roots look more stained and clogged then actually rotting..
The other pic some of the healthier ones.
Overall growth hasnt slowed a great deal and apart from a few rust spots they look generally in good health to me..

Last pic roots look like they are recovering. I would say its probably low PH but i have never used PH pergect so maybe someone else can chime in on that.

The darker sections of roots I've tried rubbing and they don't break like I would have thought rotting ones would..
I rinsed the hydrocorn with ph'd water before transferring to the RO res with the sensizym in.
Maybe that's helping a problem I'd not realised I had?..

Running the humidifier.. but using tap water in it. Since changing the sock on the air filter.. I've noticed it sucking up a lot of white dust. Assuming it's calcium as my water is super hard.. its Easily seen as the sock is black.
Could the water im using in the humidifier be causing other problems?..

Probably not, but I'd like to make a suggestion; the best humidifiers in your grow are the plants themselves. If you find you need more humidity than they're providing then it's likely that you have an issue with your environment.

If I'm not using the humidifier. Running fans reduced RH to between 25-30%
So I feel it's an necessity if I'm going to keep it higher in the 60s
I'm running the fan to control heat.. or it would soar upwards of 30c especially on a warm day..
How could I balance this out more?

An environmental controller. It will be there twiddling the knobs 24/7 so you can do other things, like have a life. Yes, it can manage temps and help raise RH at the same time.

Ok thanks tty.. I've looked at them.. but can't imagine getting one any time soon as id need all new compatible equipment

Not really, fans and such plug right into them.
Really?.. I thought only the likes of ec fans or hyperfans were needed. Still a few hundred notes for one though. Like I said to old med user.. I can't keep throwing money at it.. I've already had to replace equipment after the Mrs threw a wobbly and smashed some up.. grrr

Switched bulbs from mh to dual spectrum and some pics of Roots taken from the same 2 plants today. They've all taken on this blackened look tho...
Water temps 70f
Room temp 80f
RH 40
PPM 860

Oh and the random smell has gone
