slow plant

i currently have a plant about 18days old its in a 48" X 15"white walled area covered by a 48" t8 2 tube i think there cool white not sure but it was going really slow so i added in 2 more cfls 27w rated 120w there more white then blue should there help it grow faster? there on both sides of the plant with the fluro on top. also im picking up a ph meter and some 20-20-20? should that be good for now..bongsmilie

It's too young for nutes, don't give nutes until at least a month into veg... or you risk burning it... and even then do 1/4 strength and work up.
Yeah, it was growing slow probably because of the lights...... Get a few 23 watt CFLs.... they are the right kelvin temperature for veg growth... and they are pretty efficient for the amount of the light they output......

ps: 42 watt bulbs are also really good for flowering ;)

Sounds good so far. Most of mine seem to spend the first month or so getting good roots and getting wider, but not very tall. Don't worry - it should take off soon. You can start feeding it at three weeks, start at quarter strength and work up. Keep the lights around two inches away.
