Slow Growth? Trouble leaves curling

Hi guys my seeds sprouted and i planted them on 2/09/13

For Soil i used 50% compost 30% Vermiculite and 20% perlite.

Under 2 T5 lights I think they stretched a bit too much in early stage. 24/7

No Nutrient's added they were given water @ ph 7.1 when after testing i switched to bottled water with 6.5 to 6.8 i think I'm using paper for testing.

At later on stage i shifted them under 400w warm HPS light 24/7.

But i seems they were not growing as good as under HPS so i again put them under T5 after like 1 week.

Some leaves were not green enough so i added 2 Grams of Urea N in 1.5 liter of water bottle.

On 28th Disaster Struck pot fell over measuring scale and and more then 1/2 of soil came out and i could see roots :wall: but roots were attached with bottom soil i held the stems and covered with soil within few sec and watered it until 10% run out.

IMG_0246.jpg This image was taken right after i fixed them up and watered them.

On 30th when i came back to water them i found them in this condition is this due to Roots exposed to Air and light for couple of sec?

Will they recover? Well this was result in 30days was this slow really slow growth?

There's something very wrong.. I don't know what it is, but they should be much larger... I would transplant them into a 2-5 gallon bucket for each plant..Id also plant up to the bottom leaves when u transplant..new roots will grow.. then make sure there's a fan pointed on them at low speed to strengthen the stem.. and what is the temp and humidity in there?

i fixed to 6.5 right after i found it was 7.1 in early stage.

Currently temp is 30 degrees C and humidity 50%

im worried about transplanting them @ this early stage as roots have not fully developed and not fully attached with soil.

They will continue to stretch when trying to veg under an HPS bulb, wrong spectrum...U need an MH. And whatever that compost is, as you can see they don't care for it.

Don't worry about transplanting this early, simply re-pot w/better medium and bury those stems. The buried stem portion will develop roots.

Good luck!

Would you suggest for potting mix i should mix peat and compost with Perlite and vermiculite? Or same stuff i used before with different ratio?

I transplanted Jack into 7 inches deep 9 inches wide pot. when i took plant out all perlite, vermiculite and compost broke into pieces and i could see roots. any how i held the stem and covered it up till 4inches. I did not transplant other one as i wanted to see results of this first don't want to lose both plants. I got MH 400W and placed them under it.

The Soil mix i made this time is Peat 33.3% Compost 33.3% Perlite 16.6% and vermiculite 16.6%. It took 50-60 mins for water to drain i think its too long. Should i be worried about it? What is max temp plants can handle? Humidity level is below 40% i have AC running to avoid over heating heat from light.

Now your containers are too large, it's going to be very difficult to water properly...use a spray bottle and water around stems. If you fully water that container, your poor babies will struggle. Check your Ph as well
