Slightly less broke grow!

I've always grown from bagseed and used the poorman's shit such as miracle grow soil and ferts and CFLs. Well as of yesterday I upgraded my grow op a little. Just finished germinating 3 seeds at noon yesterday with one of the seeds about 24 hours behind the other 2. I planted them just after noon yesterday, and I woke up this morning to 2 sprouts (1 still has the seed on top of the stem). The 3rd plant probably hasn't sprouted with the others because like I said, it germinated a little later than the other 2.

My setup is as follows:

3x2x6ft closet with 3x2x2ft of shelf space above
Aluminum foil lining walls (flattened as much as possible)
3x Nirvana Misty seeds
Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil
Good ferts from the local hydro store (haven't decided which I want yet)
55w Fan blowing at half strength (till sprouts get a little sturdier)
6 CFLs all with reflector clamps(10800 lumens, mixed spectrums)(two 23w, one 29 watt, two 42w)(have room for 3 more)

I wouldnt trust my babies to foil, I'd loose it, paint the walls white or get mylar. Foil can create hot spots. I think you'd be better off without anything rather than using foil.

I've been using the same foil forever and never had any problems. I've also thought of this but until it causes a problem I'm not gonna fix it. Thanks for the advice though.

All 3 of my plants are growing fine. The late germinating seed ended up sprouting about 24 hours after the other 2 plants. They are all growing strongly and I can already tell how much healthier these plants are compared to miracle grow soil and bagseed. They are much more fuzzy (white hairs all over plant) than I am used to. All 3 of them are just starting their 3rd internode of leaves. I must say that I am expecting very good results because these are the strongest and fastest growing plants I've ever grown.

Hey Mu, what was the quality of the smoke from your earlier bag seed attempts? I am currently into my 3rd week of growing 7 bagseed plants (from some good regs) and they are really growing slowly, compared to the results I see on here.

I always used bagseed from good quality herb, way better than regs. To tell you the truth, my shit is usually always better than the herb that I got the seed from.

My camera is old and for some reason it won't send pictures to my computer anymore. So I won't have pictures until week 2. All 3 plants are growing fine but there is something weird happening to the late sprouter. It's growing at about the same rate as the other 2 plants, but the bigger leaves edges are curling up towards the light. They seem to still be healthy leaves, they just are deformed for some reason. Doesn't seem to be any kind of deficiency. Anyways, they are all getting fuzzier by the day, and the sprouts have a very strong smell compared to bagseed sprouts which smell very green and plantlike. As I said before, I'm very impressed with the quality of seeds.

PS. Have 3 42w red spec and 3 26w blue spec cfls now, totalling to 12900 lumens. (4300 lumens/plant)

The 2 strong plants both started growing their 6th node which I chopped off. I left the weaker plant alone and won't top it because it will definately need awhile to catch up.

There's definately something wrong with that plant. It's been given the exact same amounts of everything, but for some reason the sides of the leaves are curling up and inward. It isn't on the new growth, but it is slowly moving up the plant. I'd say it's heat stress but it's like 1" lower from the lights than the other plants and I know it isn't too hot. It's growth is severely stunted too. It's maybe 2/3 the size of the other plants in height and width, and it looks bad. The others are gorgeous though, dark green leaves, beautiful, no signs of strain.

If anyone has any idea of what the problem could be, let me know.
I'll try to find some way to get pics of them up to help diagnos.

Same shit, different day. The 2 good plants are doing great. The retard plant is becoming more retarded. If it keeps this up, I'm just gonna kill it.

yea white paint is the best if ur not gonna use mylar..foil soaks up 2 much light.

I fed them with some GH GrowBig yesterday and they are lovin' it. One of my lights dropped on the second strongest plant a few days ago but it didn't get burned too bad. I just chopped off the top internode again and it has like 4-5 main tops now and is still growing fine. All plants are at varying heights: 1 plant hasn't been topped, 1 has been topped once, and 1 has been topped twice. The retard plant is finally starting to have normal growth, so I guess it was some kind of deficiency that the nutes I added fixed.
Anyways, flowering will be started very soon, probably 1 week or less. All the plants are showing stipules (I think that's what it's called?) at the nodes. Still having money problems so still no pictures.

No signs of sex yet, but all plants are growing fast and healthy. I had a few problems with 2 of the plants, but everything has recovered. These misty plants are very short and indica-like but have much more sativa-like leaves than I was expecting. I am hitting a little hard with GH grow nutes until the 2nd week of flowering and then it'll be all GH bloom frow them on. Should know who my girls are in the next week! Can't wait to see the frosty white buds formin'!

Still no signs of sex on any of the plants. I did some LST'ing with some hemp rope on the topped plants because they were getting pretty bushy. All bud sites are getting much better light now. All growth is goin' good but I may be hitting a little too hard with the GH grow nutes, but not much so I'll just flush next watering and start the GH bloom after that.

I had a light leak problem which is weird b/c it never affected any of my other grows in this room but meh, all it means is my plants got an extra 3 weeks of vegetative growth which means more bud for me! So now I'm actually on day 2 of 12/12. I'm guessing my plants were getting a few extra hours of light in the morning from the leak, so it was something like 15/9 that they were getting before. I've had alot more problems this grow than ever before, most likely due to my potheadedness.

Other than that problem, the plants are looking fucking gorgeous. They look very healthy and strong, and the growth rate is great. They are startin' to stink up pretty good too. Just 2 more months!

So the plant that was topped twice, which was the fastest growing plant, is showing lots of balls at the top, so now it must die!

The plant that wasn't topped is not showing any signs of sex, and it is the weakest plant in terms of growth rate.

The plant that was topped once is showing 2 pre-flowers that I can find. No pistils shooting out yet, but I'm very sure they are female pre-flowers. This is the plant I would expect to have the best yield if it is in fact female. It has 11 budding sites total, 4 tops, 7 slightly lower but not much, all of which are getting very good light due to LST'ing.

I hate not having pictures to show yet of this grow, but I promise to have them before this grow is over!

Both plants are female and pistils are shooting out everywhere. Last watering was 2-3 days ago and I started the bloom nutes with a big blast of grow nutes for the last time.
They are growing very quickly right now, about 1/2" a day I'd say.

Didn't have time to check my babies for a few days and the taller one grew into the light and burned the top part of the bud, but no worries as there is plenty more still growing all over. Buds are shooting out everywhere, its beautiful.

I managed to get some pics of these plants up but they are from the veg stage, I'll have bud pics very soon, a day or two.
