slicing under the buds to create more resin?

I was recently told that if you make little slits with a razor on a branch right under the bud it will trick the plant into thinking it is getting attacked by bugs and will start to producing more resin. Has anyone else heard of this technique or have tried it and did you see a difference?

I have heard this technique being used on different species of plant with some results. I couldn't say I've tried or would recommend it with Cannabis. If you do want to experiment though, make sure you keep the area super sterile and spray the affected area with 70%+ alcohol as a disinfectant. Causing a bit of stress may well increase THC content but the last thing you want is an infection ruining your crop. Let us know your results if you try it. Happy growing!
