Skywalker OG too tall for me

So my third flower has made me not want to continue to grow the skywalker. It does grow very nice buds, but the vertical growth when switched to flower is over 3 times its vegetative size. Which is causing problems with my rooms, because they all having low ceilings. I even tried flipping them before my screen was even 25% full and it filled the screen and grew three feet above it...So needles to say Im looking for a smaller kush with decent production values. Can anyone point me in another direction with less flower vert growth and closer internodes maybe. Thank you for any advice given. Jedi

wow I was just looking at the seed banks and that was the one that caught my eye, and I started researching it. That may be the one, def getting some seeds and give it a try. Thanks buster, anyone else have any suggestions? Also, where could I order these seeds in canada?

Curious you are growing from clone or seed? If you are repeatedly growing from seed the plants will still have to reach sexual maturity before they flower. So switching at 25% full without them being fully mature (preflowers) they will basically sit in veg state under 12/12 until they are ready to flower. It's basically like growing 12/12 from seed. You just "vegged" for a half the time.

What you can do is take clones. Flower clones as soon as they are rooted and you should be able to maintain controllable sized plants. You could flower a six inch clone and that six inch clone will flower immediately if it is off a mature parent plant.

Even the clones from a mature Skywalker OG stretch like crazy. You just have to keep topping and training, or restrict the root zone. Or both.

View attachment 2844603any way you look at it skywalker = stretch better to control from clone though & flip when theyre 1 foot or less topping & supercropping a must i was able to keep these at 36 inches without a screen but the screen is better as my buds are bending my limbs over i get most of my skywalker info from redeye bri tga-subcool jesus og looks like it may stay short & ive been eye-balling some of the dna genetics r/p crosses like cannalope kush & purple og 18 but my room can handle some stretch & im happy with the quality of the skywalker so its gonna hang out for awhile

I didn't know that about a seed plant mr head. Thanks. I threw in 7 silver mountains that were all barely knee high in an attempt to keep them short and basically they got as tall as they wanted too lol

Glad I could contribute I'm glad I ran a few plants 12/12 from seed, learned quite a bit.

To expand a little bit, I did 12/12 from seed for the same reason I wanted some nice squat plants with quick smoke. What I got was plants that were the same size as plants I was vegging until I see preflowers and then putting them straight into flower. I got respectable yields on all three 12/12FS plants that were on par with what I was achieving with a months worth of 18/6 before hand. So if you are trying to keep plants short and put them in to flower right when they preflower it may be just as good to do 12/12FS and save some electricity money. I haven't read much on 12/12fs I just wanted to try and did, these are just my observations from 1 grow. Maybe I will test more in the future.

Ill get ya shot of my skywalker when the lights come on tonight. I started them from clones, I had two out of my six that were really small, like 4-5 inchs tall, flipped them and they are now around four feet tall, needless to say the others even grew bigger. From what Ive seen its a common problem with this strain. While it is great bud and even on my crappy plants I get 2-3oz, my rooms just cant the stretch, they grow above the lights, and thats with lolipopping and topping them. Also making it pointless to scrog, because they grow about three feet or more out of the screen.

Any good canadian seed distributors around, the last place I ordered from isnt around anymore or I just cant find it...

Why dont you just keep supercropping through the 2nd week of flower. You should be able to control height then if you have any growing skills.

Build a trillis and that will fix the problem.I had the same problem with og ghost train haze
