ISK, good question...it doesn't concern me at all, simply because it happens on all my grows. In particular week4 is when I start to see this and it coincides with the increase in nutrient per my Canna feed charts. I look at it as the sign of pre-overfertilization. The next stage of over-fert would be the "eagle claw" and we all know what the next stage is. When you think of all the ingredients in today's nutrients, the chances of just one ingredient being a little "hot" compared to all the others is probable when you run by the charts. pH I'm sure is key too. I would imagine someone running 50% to 75% what the charts say would never see the brown tips. With your situation, running 7g Maxibloom per 4L is a tad hotter than 7g/gal (I'm a fan of the Lucas formula and 7g/gal Maxibloom is his suggestion). I wouldn't change a thing you are doing however, your natural sun girls look awesome!looking awesome as always Jela
I noticed the tips of your leaves are brown, what do you believe is the root cause? is this any concern to you?
I have the same issue with my current grow and my previous hempy bucket......in my case, I think I have been using too much Cal-Mag (5ml/4 litres)...I recently started to lower that to about 3ml
PS: my nutes have been very consistent at 7 grams of GH MaxiGrow/MaxiBloom per 4 litres
Hherk, your medium selection is a winner and the smart pot & E&F tub should produce some monsters. Glad you like this strain and are exploiting it as it should be. I smoked a popcorn nug last night that I dried for 24hours...nice buzz. It moved in slowly but was a little wet still, so it was like vaping. It did the job with a little time. Seemed like I smoked that dammed nug all evening long.hey jela ive decided to do another round of the skywalker & im doing away with the dirt pheno#4 is my favorite #3&1 are identical going over to a friends today to clone from moms i gave him im gonna be growing 9 plants in 3 gal smart pots with 3'' rockwool in the bottom & filled the rest with coco/perlite & in a e&f tub that measures 30 x 43 inside diameter im gonna widen my room from 3x4 to 4x4 & go back to my 1000w hps these mods will be done using existing stuff i have laying around my babies are getting super sticky & have recently gave me a change of heart about doing away with the strain im actualy starting to like the stuff now its time to kick it up a notch
You are exactly right ISK....you would be a tad under....thanks for correcting me. I run between millimeters and inches all day at my job with ease....time to get my liters vs. gallons straightened out. It would be nice with two huge neighboring countries like ours, if they could find a common unit of measurement for volume. You'd think the US would switch to Liters so they could sell us less for the same price. Maybe that's why soft drinks come in 2L containers?thanks for the feedback Jela....one thing I hate about the imperial system is difference between US & UK gallons, because now I'm confused .....is Mr Lucas talking US or British gallons?
I assumed he was talking US gallons, so 4 litres would be more volume than one US gallon, thus my 7 grams would actuality be a tad under
If my assumption is wrong and Mr Lucus was talking British Imperial gallons, then I am a tad hotter than his recommendation
1 US gallon = 3.78 litres
1 UK gallon = 4.54 litres
they killed us when converting to metric, a quart of milk became a litre which is a tad smaller so they charged 2 cents less but soon these allowances evaporated. You are exactly right ISK....you would be a tad under....thanks for correcting me. Then you really don't know many Americans. The liter has made the most progress here but if it wasn't for the soda bottle I doubt it would have. Metric is a much better system and everyone else uses it for a reason. You are exactly right ISK....you would be a tad under....thanks for correcting me. Brother jela Sounds Like You Will be Chopping Next Week57 days 12/12, started a week of flush. The trich's are milky and as Brother Dawg would have it, they are "swaying" or bending over. No ambers yet but I'm sure they will populate over the next week. Red pistols are on every top now. The smell is "ripe".
JD, you're sooooo right, I'd be wondering what the hell I was doing wrong if I didn't see some little brown tips.....will try to throw up fresh pics tonight although they are getting ragged looking.Right....never seeing it is another concern too.
JD
thanks jela, Dawg & Javadog....I'm not going to worry about a few brown tips anymore....pedal to the metalJD, you're sooooo right, I'd be wondering what the hell I was doing wrong if I didn't see some little brown tips.....will try to throw up fresh pics tonight although they are getting ragged looking.
