Size of clones!

I admit, I let my plants get way too tall. I vegged them for a long time with the intention to take clippings. Problem is, they've outgrown the 8" ceiling and the light is going to start burning them. Couple quick questions:

Can I cut the top of the plant at say, 16" and throw that into some rockwool with cloning solution and get a viable plant starting life at a bit over a foot with a lot of really great branches or must I take a lot of little guys?

Hey thanks!:dunce:

I don't think many people has tried, but they can be hard to clone at that size and also the cutting will have a hard time to get enough water to keep so many leaves alive. It will probably work if you are a expert in cloning and has the perfect environment for it.

I'd take the smaller ones for clones. More mature 'woodier" cuttings are quite difficult. I tried a few just for fun because I was having a 100% success rate with smaller clones and just wanted to see what would happen. In my aero cloner, the large cuttings produced some roots within 14-20 days but all eventually failed due to embolism.
