single waterfarm low ph problem

High.....

It appears "ph" is not a long enough word to search for or my details are not clear so I thought Id ask the pro's.

Im running 2 single waterfarms w/hydroton that are about a month into flower. They both are on the 1-2-3 stage of the gh 3 part nutes.I also add 1 tbl pg of hygrozyme and 1/4tsp or less of the FF open sesame(900's ppm).I clean and change the res/nutes every 7 days.I flush every week with either plain 5.8 ph'd water or 1 tbls of clearex for about an hour.

They both are looking healthy. My mendo kush ph does not fluctuate that much and stays around 5.8 but have found it up to 6,no big deal. She drinks 1/2 gallon a day now.

The pineapple kush is the problem.I try to keep her at 5.8 but get home from work and she is 4.5 so I add about 1/4 to 1/2 tsp of ph up to get it back to 5.8.It down take it long to get back down in the low 5's or high 4's.She also isnt drinking as much but shows no signs yet on leaves or bud development but this just started a week or 2 ago.It seems to be stay semi stable for a day or 2 after a fresh nute change but changing every 2 days doent seem right.

Ive read were sometimes its strain related or possible advanced root rot but I still see new white roots mixed with some stained looking roots but nothing in the form of anything slimy.I think I read I should try cutting back on P but am not quite sure.I dont want to be "chasing" the ph like this and dont really want to go with a larger res/controller since its just the 2 of them and I like to keep them clean each week, gives me something to do.Thx in advance!

all ph is mate is all over the country some areas have a high ph this is called hard water and other areas have soft water.I have always lived in differant parts of the uk and that means differant water but i would go with water of about 5.5 to 6 i found that any higherand you get all kinds of problems. You are doing everything by the book flushing plants can be a pain in the arse but i only put 9ltr into my hydrophonic set up it would take alot more but i like to clean it every week without fail just useing water of around 5.5 is ok watch out for some of the products there not needed after all all your scrubbing your tank any way.Cant see a fault wiyh what you are doing everything is unky dori.good luck keep up the good work

bump.....

So even after flushing, adding 80% of 1-2-3 schedule of gh3 part nutes @ 6.3, my ph drops to close to the 4's for my comfort within 24-48 hours and its happening to both plants now.Whats interesting is they dont noticeably appear to be affected by the constant ph level changes.....yet but then im not quite sure what to be looking for.I will add 1/2 - 1 full tsp of ph up to the lower res that holds 2 gal to get it back to 6.0 or the high 5's but it begins to drop a level every few hours.

Im wondering if this can be due to a small res and keeping them independent. The root balls are huge in there now so the mass per water volume is greater therfore upsetting the balance. The only other thing different is im using less N and more P with the schedule but ive dropped the strength with no change and the fact they are in full bloom mode and getting frosty ;)

Id like to go a whole 7 days or at least 5 between nute changes with the ph'd daily water toppings to keep it at the right level instead of dropping a ton off ph up in there all the time.Would using a 2 part or another brand of nutes be an option for what im trying to do?Im also wondering if I went back to the 2-2-2 schedule when it was stable that it would be ok but im just trying to follow it as close to the book as possible.I also read that the plant is using all the different nutrients during these ph level changes so this can be a good thing?Cornfused a little but any other ideas or smackdowns are welcomed.
