Single leaves ???

I got a plant that has nothing but single leaves and is in flowering for 4 weeks now...i was just wandering what the single leafs mean....what happened??

How can shock be reversed in stressed out outdoor plants.(single blade leaves) And what could possibly be the stressors?They are way healthy but the buds aren't forming just tons of pistilate flowers everywhere but no clustering action(budding).I'll post a pic soon. But any advice would help.
