Single hole intake/exhaust help

Hey thanks guys for the good responses.
I won’t be venting into the attic, for many reasons, humidity, I put a metal roof, it just won’t be a good idea for me.

I think the reason I wanted I separate intake was so that I would not be sucking air into the garage from outside, cooling it down, and as well so I wouldn’t be sucking car exhaust fumes and other ‘garage’ fumes into the tents…
But now that I’m thinking about it, maybe I do not need worry about fumes… do I?
I think I will try just an exhaust ,6inch and a square louvred style vent. If I am not satisfied I will continue to think about a duct inside a duct.
.Do you work on cars on there? Even if, you'd vent that. No worries there.
If the scubber was a larger one with a 6" inline on a timer to do the whole garage when cars are being pre-heated or something then switch it to outlet mode for that short time period. Hang high, Center ceiling or vault.
I'd use the garages inside air or take it from in the house. Thats your heat & ac in one intake. Prob.the optimal solution. Sweet! Just use a filter box. They're cheap or easy to make one. No humidity anywhere if you use the de-hu bro. Only need to vent 15min. Before & after lights out & on because that's the plant pissing time or humidity swings. From there, once every 2 hrs or so during lights off. If worried about smell n not running co2 then every 2 hours or your discretion, day in n out. Dim the 6" exhaust if no cars to match the 4" intake.easy peasy!

Gas furnaces use a duct like you speak. So they can intake fresh air and exhaust combustion through the same boot. https://store.acpro.com/intertherm-saw27472a-roof-jack-for-gas-furnace-27-47-inches-41655
This is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Thank you. I think I have moved away from this idea for just cutting 2 holes, for simplicity.
Comparator, my cement has a 6inch curb wall and a center sump drain. If I do dwc it will be great I can just just dump the Rubbermaid tote onto the floor and it goes down the drain. I don’t have to worry about humidity too much here. If I time the grow just right it will get very dry right when things are finishing up.
The thing is I’m very cheap and I won’t be running a dehumidifier or air conditioning.
I want to have a slight negative pressure, so no smells escape.

i didsome math on the air restriction of a 4inch inside a 6inch, it basically turns the 6inch into a 4 inch in terms of area, according to my math. Any one know about pie R squared?
But I think I will just 2 holes. One in one out. But that is a good idea for a good intake filter. I don’t want any bugs or dust blowing in.

The difference between 4-6 is whats left isn't it? 6"=9x 3.14=28.26 4" =4x 3.14=12.56
28.56-12.56=16?So your 6" would have 16sq" for vent.

I grow in the garage. You’re going to have a hell of a time keeping it cool without insulation and a AC. Not to mention without a A/C unit you can’t really use this room for drying. Now I live in CA so I may be biased to always dealing with heat issues but that’s my 2 cents.

I’d highly suggest trolling OfferUp for a cheap window unit.

When I did the math the 6 inch was essentially turned into a 4 inch, slightly more area. Which is fine, a 4inch blowing into a 4x4 should be enough air flow. ?

I live in Canada., it’s only summer for 2 months, i expect the temperatures in the garage to be nice and cool. It will be fully insulated garage, and even will have a gas heater for winter. I won’t be heating it all winter I am too cheap. But once and I while to heat up my man cave.

So folks I found a brown exhaust. And a white intake. I will paint the white one brown and have brown siding. So I am happy.
The second pic is an outdoor bag seed that I put 0 effort into. I just planted it into the ground and I check on it like 1 time a month. It is supposed to be Afghan kush auto. It is almost done. I will check on it again in a week and maybe chop it down. Yes it has a spider web on it but it is very healthy. I will probably run the whole thing through the DabPress am d/or give it away to friends. How much longer you think? It is getting down to 0degrees Celsius at night now.

looks to me like it might just be a web from a spider

sometimes caterpillars make similar webs so maybe it wouldnt be a bad idea to inspect closer to the mainstem inside the buds , especially where you see a bit of webbing. spider mite damage usually shows up like little white dots on leaves. Just regular spiders might be hanging out on there or whatever but if it is caterpillars they may be pooping inside the buds and rotting them from the inside out. It looks good dude! afghan kush auto sounds nice, you've gotta love that kush exhale

61AC951F-C930-4FA0-B2AC-1AADD0DE7803.jpeg It’s looking good. Intake, exhaust. The only issue is that I like blowing rather than sucking, but when you have positive pressures, some smell can escape and I can’t have smell going into the vehicles, but also I don’t want to suck garage air in with fumes and dust..

Now I just have to trim the tin a little and some foam insulation and I might bring the tent in. What do you think

what size/type of screen would you use to cover the fresh air intake? I have some 120micron Stainless steel mesh I had for a hash making project, would that allow enough air in? I’ll have to try it and see how much it sucks.

5$ worth of screen door
Material 4 payers for each hole. This should do?
Seems pretty restrictive, think about how quick that will clog. The bird screen mesh on the intake and the flapper with birdscreen mesh on the exhaust should be fine for keeping birds out. Next ,I would use an inline pleated filter rack on the intake, and if worried about odor exiting the garage thru that hole use an inline carbon filter

It is a possibility. I've done it before for a 2 year time frame with no issues. I did keep a dehumidifier in that garage and so my humidity was not much of an issue. I did have a well vented roof though. there can be a lot of variables.
If venting into an attic just make sure it has an appropriately sized gable fan (enough to cover attic square footage + the room you’re venting out of. This should avoid potential humidity build up and mold. But really you shouldn’t worry so much, I’ve got a carbon filter in a tent in my bedroom and my clothes don’t smell like weed, hell you couldn’t tell I was growing weed unless you look in the tent.
