I don't believe a clone will take to root if you leave it outside after cutting. You need at least 18 hours of light, high humidity and a constant temperature around 75 degrees (give or take 5 degrees) for rooting. I wouldn't take the clone - leave it and let to grow/bud.
The plant looks very healthy, but I have some concern over what looks like spots on the leaves. Maybe I'm just seeing things that aren't there, but keep an eye on this - it could be a sign that you have bugs (aphids, spider mites or thrips - athough, I don't see any webs, so it's probably not spider mites). Check the underside of the leaves and lower branches for any unwanted guests.
