Simple Water chilling idea.

So I am going to be doing my first DWC grow and the main concern for a lot of folks seems to be water temp. I have a 70x48x20 cabinet, 400w HPS/MH, closed ventaliation for the light (75cfm fan intake outside/exhaust outside), and a 75cfm fan intake and 75cfm exhaust for the cabinet. Ambient temp outside the cabinet is 60-68 degrees. Inside the cabinet is 80degrees lights on and 70 off. My idea is to place the air pump outside the cabinet to suck in colder air hopefully lowering the water temp. Anyone ever tried this?

Well, you won't have to worry about the lights off temp for the first month or 2, because you should go 24/7.

I wouldn't push air into the cabinet if there's no room for the hot air to escape at the upgraded rate. I would just throw another exhaust fan in there and get a fan blowing inside the cabinet to circulate the air. My 1st grow too.

I had some problems in the beginning with not enough heat, so it's going to take you some time to fine tune it.

I had an idea on another post I titled "Ice Cooled Lines" where I was going to chill the air tubes that push air into the res... but I haven't needed to do it yet because things are running A-o-K...

Good luck.
