Silicon dioxide

The guy at my local hydro store gave me a couple sample bottles of this mad farmer silica shield. It's derived from potassium silicate but contains silicon dioxide. I haven't seen any other silica products that contain silicon dioxide so I was wondering if it would be okaycto use this product with an organic lineup, or if silicon dioxide has any affect on the microbes or anything.

Yes. That's the same thing as diatomaceous earth which is perfectly safe for your plants.

Is it "organic"? That's up for debate. I've used it with my organic plants with no ill effect.
