Last thing I'll be doing is wearing a suit or posing. I am who I am and if you don't like it, well, you know what you can do. ;)

I am a middle class american and I'm not going to pretend to be anything else.
 
Going with some The Homegrown Cure on some black tees. then maybe some wordage like, dont touch our rights. or protect the mma of 08! i dunno.. ideas?

I'm not sure if I'm yet able to make it to this -- I'm working on it --

But I agree with what these guys are saying!! I'm not saying you should or must wear a suit and tie - but I can definitely tell you that the tie-dye look, etc. -- will not help.
I've had my share of dealings with the legal system - (not that I'm bragging....) It is a system, and a tricky one at that!! ( and no - none of my dealings with the legal system had anything to do with mj )
It's been my experience that they can change the rules how ever they want to get what they want -- and it doesn't usually matter to what lengths they must go either!

Don't pretend to be something your not - but it's not asking too much to leave the sweat pants and such at home for the day and represent our community in a manner in which is helpful - not harmful -- But, I do believe a nice pair of jeans and a shirt without any
pictures or content that would offend people is sufficient. If you dress up on a normal basis because you work or whatever - than by all means dress up.

You can't win Simon says to become Simon by not following the person in charge of the guidelines. So you have to play your audience it's not being a poser it's being serious about this topic and wanting to be taken seriously ecspecially since some people at this rally will have no comprehension of how we can actually have an effect instead of being a nuisance in the eyes of the people WE have to CONVINCE. Were not just there to be heard, we are there to make sure what we say is turned into a actual action on the side of our government. Everyone needs to get more in tune with the system to make it work for us instead of sitting there and bitching to a brick wall cause that's all were doing if the other side won't even take us seriously.



In addition when everyone within 5 years of me ( let's say demographic of 18-23 to generalize and yes I realize this isn't everyone but there is definitely enough out there) that I have met that have a card have never actually followed the mmj law correctly with little care. Why wouldn't I want to reduce that presence and mindset at the rally cause there are going to be those people there. I think it's great they support the cause but I think it's terrible that they hurt it just as much if not more then they support.
 
Make no mistake about it people; every single person who attends the rally will be 'ON STAGE'. First impressions are EVERYTHING and the media will be there in full force covering the event and you can bet your ass they'll try their hardest to find the goofiest dressed slop tart to do an interview with (as they always love to do), so we should make sure that we present ourselves in a professional and respectful manner with a common sense message: We support patients' rights who justifiably deserve safe access to their medication of choice.

BTW, how long is the rally going on for? I don't get off work until 1 and I've got about a 50 minute drive to make it there. Even if I can only be there with the rally supporters for an hour or two at the end, I'd love to be there to support patients like my wife and all others like her.

I was just saying don't perpetuate the stereotype. My job requires me to wear business casual. If I were able to get off work I would show up in business casual. Wearing dew rags and shirts with pictures of marijuana, bob marley, and/or phish will not change anyone's mind in the capital. Don't get me wrong, I like Bob Marley and phish. I'm not trying to be a poser, but the stereotype is what it is. Don't give into the stereotype even if it fits you.

No one specifically called you out.... If you dress like a farmer there is little controversy that could be struck from your clothes if they dont have messages on them and so forth then were not talking about you. Were there for mmj and all that's being said is any distractions should be avoided, those distractions include very controversial sayings/ideas or perpetuates a rag tag culture that would be seen as those dirty stoners. Trying to put farmers clothes in the equation is not a good way to try to get your point accorss because those aren't the variables we are referring to.
 
I got nothing against overalls guy :) all in good fun. I think the point is for us to just stay focused on the message at hand. This isn't a rally for bob marley, jerry garcia, and pot leaf shirts etc...; it's a rally for patients rights and safe access to medicine. Nuff said on this topic.
