Side by Side Pics (request)

Hey guys,

Relatively new grower here. I'm kinda in my learning stages and lately I have been reading up on nutrients. I have recently experienced my first organic problem (didn't do my research) and suffered a calcium problem early. I picked up something at my co-op called The PowerPak which is a 20-20-20 mixture with micro nutrients. After 1 dose as suggested on the bottle I saw almost immediate results with all my plants (especially my organic grows). I have pics in my journal if you want to see them. So, I am now wondering since I have experienced the miracles of nutrients what could benefit my flower like this in the flowering stage. I have read strong opinions that they are " a waste of money " and " they can completely change your grow ".

Doe's anyone here have Side by Side pics of a plant to which NO SUPPLEMENTS was given in the flowering stage and where SUPPLEMENTS WHERE USED in the flowering stage. I would be very interested to see the results.

* I am merely curious and have yet to conclude my opinion on flowering nutes. Please no bashing or trash talking companies and certainly no sales pitches.*

Thanks RIU

Personally I am still researching this. However, I have been reading up on the benefits of "Advanced Nutrients Bud Candy" and "Advanced Nutrients Big Bud". They sound really good. They are suppose to help your buds develop. I don't really know if these nutes are effective out doors or not honestly. But what I am thinking is, as long as they don't harm my plant - why not try them?

Today I bought something though you might want to look into. Superthrive. Its suppose to be crazy awesome and I seen a guy do a pretty good grow indoors with very good exposure to natural sunlight and a supplemental 23 Watt CFL and his plant looked super nice. It is a hormone supplement that can be used in conjunction with fertilizer. I would probably recommend some good fertilizer and a small dose of Superthrive. I bought a 1 oz. Bottle off eBay for 5.50 with free shipping and its going to last my entire grow.

I can't seem to find the pics from my first grow, so I'll describe it for you..

I had one plant in a 5 gallon bucket, and 4 plants in 6" pots. Throughout the grow, I used standard soil, stuff you'd buy in then home and garden section at Lowes or Home Depot and no nutrients. Each plant ranged from 6" (smallest) to 2 1/2' (largest). I was STOKED at the time, never having grown any plants, let alone marijuana..

Then season 2 came the next year..

During the fall/winter right after season 1, I decided to do some research, that's actually when I found RIU, which ultimately became a tremendous help! I read thread after thread about outdoor growing, bought a grow book, bought nutrients, bought 10 more 5 gallon buckets... but kept bag seed as I didn't have anything else available to me at the time.

This was the result, keep in mind, going from, at the largest, 2 1/2'...;

The only difference being the size of the container and the added nutrients.

You do the math on that one!

Buy nutrients!

I went with the Fox Farm trifecta, the big bloom, big veg and tiger boom, all worked excellent.

But, the lack of good genetics led to the weed not being all that potent. (LESSON LEARNED, go with good genetics, that's 60% of the entire grow equation if you want potent cannabis!)

All in all, an excellent growing experience and an excellent life lesson. I'd never grow without nutrients again after seeing those results first hand.
