Hello all,
Woke up this morning and checked on my once healthy WW seedling and found some problems. Shes at three nodes and has been topped now, pretty compact small plant. Had my LED light about 5 inches from it. Anyhow, heres my problem.
The starter leaves (not cotyledons, but the set directly after that) are browning/rusting, and they are brittle. Not dead yet completely, but definitely a problem. New growth also seems to have a tinge of this brown on the outsides, but otherwise the plant looks healthy.
I immediately assume light was too close, then remembered other plants did fine. Went to my PH. Im in soil, and I havent been PHing things but I have the capabilities. PH was between 5 and 6 (litmus paper test) so that should be fine.
My nutes were crazy high. Either I hit a hot spot in my bag of soil, or somehow nute water was fed to it by mistake. Hovering at around 1000PPM >.< im in the process of flushing that ridiculous nonsense out of my SOLO cup container haha.
My question is, do you think the PPM could cause these symptoms? I've seen burn before and either this is the *super* early stage, or its something else. My other plants just brittled up and turned yellow/grey on me and died. This seems different. Can too many nutes cause a lockout of other things the plant needs?
Let me know what you think. I was *sure* it was PH when I first saw the plant, but this is something new to me.
