Sick plant please help identify what may of caused this.

Hi,

Im looking for some help identifying what may of caused this problem with my plant, the leaves have been getting worse as time Goes by and some fan leaves at the top of the plant have gone completely brown and crisp.

plant is grown in coco using emerald harvest 2 part nutrient line.

My environment has been okay but not optimal, temp 20c - 27c (it did hit 30 a couple of times with the hot weather few weeks back) and humidity has been between 50-70%, ph of feed has been 5.8-6.

The plant in question is a dankalato by dank genetics, I have 2 of these in my space and the other one is fine so not sure what’s going on.

I have been following the emerald harvest feed chart, when I started to notice the problem I backed off the feed a bit but it didn’t seem to help.

I was wondering if it was cal/mag deficiency but I’m in a hard water area so don’t think it could be that.

I did have some fungus gnats so also wondering if that could be the cause.

Id second over feeding.

First of all, the charts that come with your nutruents are guesstimates at best, and the company will always air on the side of "more is better" because that helps line their pockets. So you always need to start low and slowly work your way up. This way, you can stop adding nutrients at the start of burning instead of at the point you are now. PPM/EC meter would save you a lot of headache here.

Second, all plants are different. 1 plant may like full strength nutrients, another may only be able to handle half that amount, even in the same strain (depending on phenotypes)

Its either nutrient burn or pH. Id start with using the bare minimum amount of nutrients needed to sustain her (id say use non, but i believe coco NEEDS constant nutruents because its inert if im not mistaken) for at least a week.. she needs a break. Beyond that, dial back your nutrients, keep your water properly pHed for coco, and hopeful you can keep her going ti harvest

Thanks for the input!

I have read this plant can be finicky so there is a possibility of over feeding.

she’s now on 0.25ml a+b per litre of water and will be straight water for next 7 days as she’s getting the chop.

Keep the nugs from both plants separate, then come back here and let us know what you think of each.

I dont want to skew your perception by saying this, but I grew a white widow plant, harvested and had nugs in jars. Then I had a clone of that same plant and I accidently fried her with 9.0 soil pH (long story) and had to battle with her through half of flower till she finished.

But ill be damned... the WW clone that looked as burnt up as yours was SOO much better than the mother plants buds were. I harvested both at 75 days of flower, both dried the same way etc etc. Yield was fucked, came up at 34% less weight than the mother, but the smoke was out of this world.
