Shroom identification. . .

I'm going out with my cousin tonight to pick some wild shrooms. He claims to have 10 years of experience under his belt, but I'm still worried. He said that the edible shrooms will have a blue hugh to them if you crush the stems and wait a bit. He also said that we will only be picking the one's that have their root system imbeded into cow shit. We're sneaking into a cow pasture fyi. I guess him and another cousin and a couple chicks went out a few nights ago and got quite a bit from there, and they all ate them and they're all here today so that's a good sign lol. Anyways, what are some identifying features of "ink caps" and "psilocybe consensus" for a newbie who has never seen a shroom in real life before. I'd hate to have him tell me that something is safe to eat and never wake up the next morning lol.

If i were you I'd pick as many as you can and then bring them home and go to a mushrooms website and compare the ones you have to make sure theyre safe

Mushrooms can be extremely difficult to tell apart.. if you choose to do this, I would take sport prints & bring along a book for identifying mushrooms. Be extremely careful.. one mess-up can seriously harm you (or kill you).

I recommend Liberty caps, the young ones look like nipples.

they look like this if they come out of cow poop. We use to get them all the time when I was in high school. Takes alot to trip though.

nice pic, thats how they should look. boil them and get strait up

i really wouldnt suggest it, they can be very hard to identify
