econolight has 8 bulb four foot t5s with the bulbs for about 150! they send me a catalogue every month from when I got one of those 150 hps for 30 bucks. This is legitamite and what a frickin deal!


Oh yeah, search for victor vicious, he is an older member who ran a nice big sog under 40k lumen t5s. He got good results, refused to switch to hids. Have not seen any posts in a while but they are there and he has a huge journal that is well documented.

Hey everyone, newbie to this site and to indoor growing here.

Hey tea tree, can you post a link to econolight? I did a search and there are a ton of companies with that name or variations of it. $150 is a great price, way less than what they are selling for on ebay. How was the shipping cost on that?

I did a search for VictorVicious, I found his profile but I couldn’t find his grow information.

I'm looking at doing my first indoor grow and I’m trying to gather the best info and sources that I can. I will make my own hydro units and looking hard at Advanced Nutrients, although not totally settled on them yet. My grow space will be 5 foot wide by 4 foot deep and 7 foot high. I will be starting from seed stock and I want to use the T5 for low heat & low power use.

What I’m thinking about is a 4 foot 6 bulb T5 setup with 50/50 bloom bulbs and one or two, 2 foot 8 bulb T5 50/50 bloom.

I understand it is best to mix the 6,500 HO bulbs and the 3,000 HO bloom bulbs 50/50 for the entire grow. Is that correct or should I start with the 6,500 until flowering and then switch to bloom bulbs for 12/12?

How many plants will this 47 pound carbon filter and fan absorb the smell from? eBay Carbon/Fan Thanks, Bob

Just wanted to give you my info.....I get my lights from walmart......12 for the fixture...2 bulb...4 foot...uses T5 bulbs...i get my bulbs from OSH $6 GE bulbs!!..for two...I run 6 bulbs...(3 fixtures)....4 - 6500k, 2- 2700k during veg.....2-6500k, 4-2700k during flower....been running for 2 grows about 6 months and haven't had anything burn out....don't have a lot of pics...but i get pretty good results...

Do you know the brand and part number of the fixtures? I thought the ballast of a regular florescent fixture would burn out immediately when using a T5. If yours is lasting, that sounds like the winner at 12 bucks.

What kind of nutrients do you use and have you posted any pictures of the grow? Thanks for the info!

I am using a t5 8bulb. workin great. My friend has more experience than me and has the same set up. He just harvested 2...yes 2 nyc diesels and had 10oz harvested!!! And it is amazing...no lie. I can try to find some pics for you but from a little experience, the t5 8bulb has proved worthy. Awesome results

sorry...there T8 but....there lights of america brand....8045E is the model number...there made for T8 bulbs...32watt per bulb.....GE Ecolux is what i use...T8's are the medium size bulbs...don't know if your stuck on the T5 deal but these are a good alt.......they stay really cool and i keep them an inch or closer to my plants....i have to move them up about every other day...i use alaska organic nutes as directed on bottle and i start half strength and work my way up to 1 1/2 times suggested Also i use super thrive there whole life...one drop per gallon until last two weeks ....and MOAB twice during there life...1 TEASPOON per 5 gallon..1 week after i start flower...and two weeks before harvest.....and i use a lil molasses during flower...
