SHOW I REMOVE THESE LEAVES?

Hey can anyone help me diagnose what cause this issue with my leaves. The lower fan leaves have a greyish/green/brown color to them and have begun to curl upward. There are probably about 3 or 4 of them on this plant. I think it was from overwatering early on but I am not sure. I am using FFOF soil and a 600w Vivosun LED with consistent temps of 78F 60% RH. I’m growing photos and I’m entering week 4 of veg. Should I defoliate these leaves to save energy?

Post an image or 2 of the entire plant if possible. The curling looks like heat stress, and its hard to tell if the leaves are resting on the soil or not.
It’s hard to get a proper angle because it’s underneath the lst. But it’s not touching the soil. That’s never been an issue

Thank you, it is amazingly rare how often someone will bother to take a few more shots. Shows you care and want great results, good for you!

First you have healthy plants, I would not be worried.

2nd, I believe it is a heat issue. I think i have those 6" convertible fans? They dont rotate and i wonder if that is an issue. You want a really consistent temp throughout your space...top bottom side to side by using fans well. If the lights are strong and a plant or part of it doesnt get airflow it will curl and eventually burn.

If fans are good then check your heat...it may be just a bit high. If lower leaves curled and not upper leaves it may have happened a week ago where it was too hot.

Yes you can remove leaves, any leaves can be taken off in veg. If they bother you or seem badly damaged just clip them off with sharp sterilized scissors.

My clue in your sitch is the leaves are curling not just at tips but the leaf sides are curling in. My best guess anyway.

Thank you for the reply and good word! I’m glad my plants are at least moderately healthy! Yes I’m really trying my best to maximize my success even though this is my first grow. I’ve very quickly become obsessed with the growing process!

as for the leave, yes, I did Notice this about a week ago before I started lst. My Vivosun 600w led Doesn’t generate much heat but it’s possible the positioning could have caused the issue early on. I just assumed it was from over watering because I was a bit aggressive with watering the first two weeks before got ahold of myself. I’ve only fed ph water thus far. I’m thinking it would be best to remove these leaves as its only gotten worse with them. One picture in particular shows the leaf turning more brown.

as far as lighting goes, I’m definitely happy with the light I have, however, with all the research I’ve been doing. I’m already getting to the point that I know it won’t produce the greatest results. I’ve been debating on upgrading to the spider farmer 2000. It will cost me $100 more but seems like at least double the results of what I have. Then again I may be over zealous. Growing has quickly become an obsession for me

Also I have a second fan going on the other side of the tent as well. To my knowledge I’ve been getting descent airflow even though my fans are not oscillating. But again I’m in my first grow so I really don’t know

I was same as you, somewhat obssessed in a good way. Dont ever go the lazy route....read and ask and learn. Airflow is very important as they grow. Keep going you are fine. Leaves are gold during flower, in veg they are expendable
