Should there be more room between nodes?

Hey guys my plants seem to be going pretty well. The only thing is they are getting bushy but not tall. I have kept the light within 2-3 inches above the plants and am wondering if i should raise it. Here are some pics one is an old one then a new one and then a close up of the nodes. Also it appears that from each node comes 2 types of fans leaves one which is just a fan leave and one that branches out more... is this normal?

it also depends on the plant itself, some will maturity earlier than others. Just start pushing them and see how fast they grow.

tighter the nodes the better for harvesting, if i want clones i let them stretch a bit more by just placing them in any light for 12 a day on top of 12 hours under. hope that helps.

I don't think this meant flowering, I think he meant 12 hours light on the canopy then 12 hours light underneath this will not force flowering.
