The doctor in Ewa was kicked out of Cali so he works here now full time. Dr Barton and Dr Jimenez work in Ewa. thats where I have gone for two years now.
couple of my friends went there. it was a quick in and out:neutral: *what happen to the check-up, no need nowadays?* , they got approved and went on thier way. by the time they recieved thier medical cards, it was 6 months later.

The first time I went it was a quick in and out and I was like WTF. The last time I went in which was a couple of months ago Dr. Barton actually did a thorough screening of me. There is also a Dr. Greenly that THC ministry supports. He is in honolulu. To each is its own. I cant believe you have to fly to Big Island just to get your MMJ card.

I don't HAVE to fly to the big island, I CHOOSE to. Berg is legit, the number #1 medical marijuana dr. in the state of HI. that ewa place is shady. and didn't THC ministry get busted not to long ago? THC ministry is not medical. they go the "spiritual" route...... to each his own for sure.

Wow, the lady who calls me back is putting me off by saying the doc(s) only come to town occasionally, so therefore, "don't call us, we'll call you." This was just last week. I just called and got a recording and left another message. I need to get this done right away; once my family sees my seedlings, they are going to have a shit-fit unless I'm legit. And if I can get my card, I'll go Big Island just as well. As you guys can tell, I need and want this very badly, I don't even care what is costs....

Say you have severe pain, and that you get "pain induced insomnia". IDK what state you're in, but insomnia alone is not a valid excuse. While some states you can apparently say you have chronic hiccupps or some bullshit and they'll give you a prescription. So it really depends. But I'd say if you tack a 2nd medical condition onto the list, your probability of being seen as someone who would benefit from it is much greater.

And yes, go for it. While cannabis should be legal globally and should not be treated as a drug/criminal activity. But til that day comes, ALWAYS choose safety & caution first when it comes to legal issues that could literally be life changers if you don't and get caught.

Hope this helps, and def do the right thing!

Cheers

Most definitely, thanks for re-clarifying.

In Hawaii.

I do have a boatload of med history including pain-induced insomnia, deep depression, anxiety and panic attacks, irritable bowel syndrome, and serious back and neurological issues. When you come to think of it, I am the ideal poster boy for medimari. The only thing I don't have is the "wasting away syndrome" from AIDS or being HIV positive :( I feel for them.

And thanks for giving me the law "reality check." I kind of wish I started my babies later since this hassle may take longer than I anticipated. But there's also the "short (outdoor) season" thing I was mindful of. Man does pakalolo love this climate!

I'm jealous ... I've seriously considered selling all my assets and just up and going to Hawaii with a one-way ticket. That's the life. And I know I could grab a job and a bedroom somewhere and just live a laid back, chill lifestyle. I'd def want to work out growing there, which would be interesting and def a lot more expensive if I went indoors. Outdoors is prob the only reasonable way to do it.

How do all the light cycles work for ya in Hawaii? When does everything flower?

For the most part, growing indoors is not an option. At least not for me. I don't know the specific costs, but I could not do an indoor grow here, that much I do know. The goods news is that you can grow outdoors all year round if you can keep the insects at bay. You will probably also want to stay away from Oahu if you want to grow. I grew up here, and every day it blows my mind how crowded Honolulu is. You got people and buildings on top of you everywhere. There is rare open space. Go to one of the neighbor islands. This island is toast. The only reason I am here is because I lost my job as a teacher, got divorced, and lost my house in Georgia. I'm back home taking care of my ailing parents and looking to restart my life at 50. That is also why I am looking so hard for medical marijuana. I have my share of post traumatic stress disorder symptoms which will break your body down if you are not able to chill. Trust me on that.

It's also super super expensive; when you walk through the stores, your eyes will pop out of your head when you see the pricetags on everything. Don't get me wrong, the weather is mild all year round, and if you send out a good vibe, people here can be the coolest.

As far as light cycles, you can gauge that to your own needs. If you want to start late (like I am now), you will get a smaller yield, but at least you can grow without worrying about any frost or freezing. So you will be able to harvest in Dec, Jan, Feb, and even March. One year I did have my plants go into re-veg, but if you are careful, you can time it so that doesn't happen. The genetics of your seeds plays a role too.

You may want to peruse the Hawaii Growers section of "Outdoor Growing" on this website.

Yeah, I agree, I just hope that by the time I get my appt., they are still prescribing. I have been known to have crappy timing with these things. I mean look, one doctor has already jumped ship here in Ewa. The documentation is going to be the easy part. Timing my crop for the short season is what's making me antzy. Unless I grow autos.

You guys are awesome. Random acts of kindness all around in here. I got set up with Dr. Berg within 2 weeks. His wife is a total charm, what a lovely person. I am also following up on another "closer to home" lead, and that's looking good as well. The compassionate peeps in this thread will never be forgotten, and I believe in reciprocity! I'll keep you all posted :)

Sweet man!! I just got my appointment with Dr. Berg too on Tuesday! Hopefully I can get this card. I have a Keloid scar on my back, which aint the prettiest of them all but it hurts like a bitch! Just like the slightest thing that bumps into my scar will send a painful shock through my whole back for maybe a good half hour. No pills seem to cope with this problem either and Doctors told me to go see a Dermatologist but I dont have the money and time for that right now. You guys think I could get my card for this?

Oh and by response time, what do you mean?

I have to fill out some application for $25.00 to the state. Do I get my grow permit right away, or is there a wait time? Thanks.

The way it happened with me was when I went to see berg, we filled out my application. payed the 25 bucks along with the dr's fee to berg. He then had to send the application to narcotics enforcement division. From there they review it and if all is right, they approve it and send the blue card to berg, who then signs it and then mails the card to me. As far as recieving it, I got mine a few weeks after my appt. But it could be a little longer or a little less. It all depends on narcotics enforcement divisions end and how long they take to review your application.
