Hey guys, the big question is should I top now or wait to create my manifold. This balck rhino is 18 days old is is doing extremely well. I just fed her a couple hrs ago and was debating on toping this bad girl. Shes got 4 nodes and working on her 5th and I would top back to the 3d. Any info would be great but I think by what Ive read, its time. Thanks in advance and Happy Growing.

***Pics are the same plant, just from a different view and where I would top

At your discretion. Most top after the 3rd node. I tried for fun after the first just for experimental purposes and it looks like they're going to be monsters. When I top after the third and veg to long they grow like wild flower so I'm learning to flower earlier. My 2 cents.

I would suggest waiting for the sixth node to show up, and also leave a bit of stem hanging, don't cut right up next to the joint, cut closer to the fourth node to allow room for the plants stem to heal. It's better (imo) to wait til three nodes of growth show up before you top the plant.

If you cut them too early or too late it can stunt them, there is a sweet spot so to speak but some strains/seedlings recover quicker from topping than others, it's best to look at the overall size of the plant itself and if possible compare it to other plants, like the ones I've topped if I top a seedling that is of smaller size in the first place, then they seem to not rebound as quickly as the larger or faster growing seedlings.

But yeah once the sixth node shows up let it grow for about a day or two then clip it, it's better safe than sorry, once they stunt it can slow them down for two weeks, which is why I'm a fan of topping above the third true set or higher.

Thanks guys. I realy appreciate the insite and personal experiences. I may have to wait anothee day anyways so that will give her more time to grow. I can already see a differnce from lastnight to this morning.

Hey bro here’s little info from uncle bens thread it helped me out a lot !!!!

To get 4 main colas, let your seedling or cutting (clone) grow to about 5-6 nodes and pinch out (cut) the stem just above the 2nd true node. The node where the cotyledons attach doesn't count. The result will be a redistribution of the auxins and other hormones that normally collect in the tissue of the terminal leader's tip. These ho moans will be redistributed to dormant buds that reside in the nodal axis where the leaf petiole attaches to the "trunk", below the cut. The new foliar output response will be quick (within 24 hrs., see photo below) if you have a healthy growing seedling and will be your future main colas

***EDIT*** Not sure how or if its to late but I should have added that the Black Rhino is an Indica/sativa hybrid and is a short bushy/bulky plant. So the real question is, should i even top this plant to make a manifold of 8 colas? Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Lst? The bottom nodes are grown out now at a decent size.
I also plan on doing the same to my dinamed cbd plus which isnt quite ready. This plant is a sativa hybrid and is a medium size pyramid shape plant.

**Here are the pictures and have labeled the one to my knowledge of how many nodes there is.

Thanks for that info bro !!!! It’s really important now to top!! it will increase your yield by it being a smaller compact plant

What do I know I’m just a newb lol peace

Here's the approach all be taking. Has anyone else used this specific site and got great results? Or maybe even as a guideline? Should be interesting as its my first indoor grow and first time topping and mainlining. Pedal to the metal and aint looking back. Thanks guys and happy growing.
