Should I top my Sativa dominant SoG?

Hey guys,
Wondering if anyone could shed some light on this for me.
Im growing Super Lemon haze in SoG. 64 Plants in a 4x4 tray
1000w HPS

Do you think it would be bad if I topped the plants in week one to minimize plant stretch or would that screw my situation?

Its either top or Lollipop. But I just want to get that stretch down cause last time I
put them in from clone I got 3 ft tall plants and that wont work that well this time I don't think with the density I have.

closer lights + less heat provided by better circulation and moving hot air out of the room or bringing cool air into the room and you will have less "stretch"... lower heat also allows the plant to breath better combined with a 40-50 % humidity level in the room, considering you are having 64 plants crammed in there altogether and not much fresh air will be getting around and underneath them...

you can top early and have no detrimental effects to your plants other than having to wait the extra 2 wks in the beginning for them to catch up... also topping them early say at only 3 nodes also causes them to have an extra 2 more tops or what i call bottoms come out as well and may end up making your plants a bit too bushy if you are having them all really close together like that you'll probably end up having to lollipop them down the road anyways...

oh wait are you talking about topping them during 12/12 flowering in week one or during veg week one cause if you're gonna top them you just are better off doing it when it is still in veg, then wait the week or 2 till the new tops have come in at least an inch or so, then throw it into flowering...

i dont use fresh air, I have a sealed room with a CO2 Gen..But I meant from clone to flower!

If you are really going to try 64 sativa's in a 4x4 then you will only want 1 cola per plant. Since you've run this room I'm sure you know how close you can keep a 1k light, so even with a flip now these puppies will be over 2', so I believe you will have to do a lot of trimming underneath. Best of luck on your grow, hope you are talking about a 4x4 flood tray or the maintenance is going to suck.

4´x 4´ = 24 plants tops (Rule of thumb for SoG), only way you can fit that many plants in that space is going vertical.

Dude, ever see the SeeMoreBud's videos? That guy puts up to 300 in a 4x6 area... so... Also... 4 /sq ft is not alot...

Thought alot more about it last night. And if I lollipop after the first week of flower. It will stunt the growth also to help shorten the stretch..
If this grow gets to tangly I might have to switch to a indica dominant strain.

(But i'm also using 3 pheno's of SLH, ones more indica dominant but isn't much of a producer)

Think so? I would think I would need to cut em a little to assist in ventilation with the density.... Or get some more fans... ya.. more fans

Dude I haven't but I'll look for it now I'm pretty interested. I said that coz I follow the SoG rule currently and flower from clone and it still gets very crowded, so I can't imagine fitting more plants in that space and still keep the environment perfect for the girls-

Btw do the lolipop at the 2nd week after flip, when the plant is in hemp mode. It'll be great for the colas
