I had my auto northern lights on 24/0 for the first 5 weeks of its life and it wasn’t showing sex so I changed the schedule to 12/12 to try to boost flowering because it was taking longer than expected and was filling in way too much of my grow space and then she finally started showing pistols about 3 days after the light change but during the stretch phase up to this point almost 2 weeks since then the new growth or “tops” are stretching way too much and is starting to get way too high, she stretched at least a foot upwards, I also topped her too when she hit about a foot tall (her main stem and maid two main colas) but I trained her and made the sea of green so I don’t know if that contributes to it but this all happened since I made that change and from what I’ve read about autos is they don’t need a change in light and are not affected by it but I also kept in mind that the strain I chose is 10% ruderalis 20% sativa and 70% so obviously the photoperiodic strains are more dominate so maybe she was leaning more towards those genes rather than the ruderalis gene and the light change gave her the boost for flower but the auto part is light hungry like autos are? This is all assumptions I came up with but I need some outside input so I’m open to any suggestions.
