Should I get a 300 watt or 600

You wont be he is just being a hater. Get the 600 and open it up and disable 3 of the 4 panels when the plant/plants are very small then add the panels back as needed.

I think you will find many people here who were disappointed with the mars hydro. I lost 4 diodes in the first month on mine and stopped using it after 2 month. the cheap diodes they use are less effiecient than CFLs. if your heart is set on an LED than get one of the good cobs but be ready to spend a few hundred for it.if your on a tight budget then a 150 watt HPS or a PLL-55 fixture like this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-T5-FLUORESCENT-GROW-LIGHT-110-watt-TEK-FLORO-w-VEG-bulbs-24-hydroponic-cfl-/120841968576?hash=item1c22be1bc0:g:yOcAAOSwWKtUvX3l may be a good option.if you are going to get a cheap led take a look at this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/1000W-Full-Spectrum-Hydro-LED-grow-light-for-medical-plants-veg-and-bloom-Fruit-/391471068035?hash=item5b257e7383:g:XX4AAOSw3YNXYRfh 240-280 watts actual power. better spectrum, newer generation 10 watt diodes. but remember this. there is a reason the price of those cheap chinese LED grow light is in free fall

you sound like someone who knows the truth and does not want to be confused by facts. many of us hate mars hydro because they are low quality lights that do not last. everyone hates being rip off. " friends don't let friends buy mars hydro's"
