I do all the big fan leafs and prune the bottom at day 21
Yup day 21 flower. I monster crop the lower branches that won't make the cut...pun intended. keep the lower fans, but prune the lower nodes, pull top fans, keep top nodes...kind of hybrid lollipop. Bottom leaves are useless, but they've grown and they're just taking in some wasted light for the stem. It works for me. I pluck yellows as they age.

Remove the sun leaves at this point, the previous poster was absolutely correct. All they are doing is blocking light to the buds. Check out my current grow, it may help you make up your mind.

All fans? Or just the giant ones? I swazzed last grow and pulled 3.75 zips off 2 plants don’t know if it helped or hurt my yields

All the sun leaves......the plant doesn't need them at this point. Here's a 34 minutes description about defoliation:

It's worth a listen, it explains everything you need to know and why it works. Believe me when I tell you I'm a long term grower who always believed that the plant needs those leaves to be healthy and produce big buds. I'm here to tell you, that's just not the case. Doing it properly will increase your yields at least 30%, it will allow better air circulation around the plants, make it easier to get in between the plants to water and make trimming in the end way easier.

Yes, I do the same too, leave the lowest fan leaves, like 2-4 depending on how and where the buds are forming.
I feel like those lower fans have saved me by buffering my nutrients/soil

Yes, defoliate large petiole fan leaves. Start from the bottom and really target the center of the plant.

Can also cut away small-diameter stems/nodes that wont reach the trellis/canopy

Think of it this way instead......the plant can now concentrate it's energy towards the large, main buds and in the end, they'll be bigger. The lower stuff never fully finishes anyway, and it's light and airy.

Is so hard cutting those lower bud sight dude lol I feel like I’m loosing yeild doing it but I’ll grin and bare it
For me, since I defoliate near 21 days of flower, I can see what buds are lacking compared to others.

If any bud isn't as big as, or as developed as at least the middle buds, I cut them off.

Not Trimming, and lollipoping, is the difference between having 5 ounces in 5 five jars, or 4 ounces in 8 jars

I've had a 2*1 square foot canopy give me 2.5 ounces, and I've had 2 single colas give 2.5 ounces due to proper trimming

Interesting! How often do you defoliate?

So I’ll remove everything with a purple stem and lollipop the lowers then remove everything covering a bud sight hopefully that will be the last time I need to defoliate in flower

Wow, a picture. I would leave the very top ones, but moving downward, I would chop ALL the larger leaves below. Or anything directly blocking buds.
So things circled, leave, but anything large and below, pinch off.
