Should I defoliate this?

I've noticed the leaves on the lower half of my plant are getting a little crunchy in places. Should I be defoliating? Not sure if they're turning this way from lack of light or something else.
Also wanted to get an idea of how long after switching to 12/12 I might see signs of sex. Switched to 12/12 May 19th and still no definitive signs of sex.

Seeds or clones?
If clones then you dont need to worry, they will be taken from a fem plant.. unless youve stressed them out alot & have concerns about hermies

From seed-found it in a bag that had gotten pollinated along the way, quite a few seeds in the buds-is that a direction this plant may take?

Ye id be extra vigilant with it, its already came from a hermie by the sounds of it so not the best genetics, check by your nodes for any signs of balls or sacs( if you have these, wet your fingers and get as close as possible to them and pinch off, be careful you dont pollinate the plant while doing so)

Maybe someone else can help abit more, im still quiet new myself
