Should I buy new lights?

Well I have a few seeds germinating (but I'm eventually only going to be growing 1 plant), and so I decided now would be a good time to get some lights to start the vegging. Long story short, my six new 30watt 1900 lumens cfl's have a 2700K rating, so will I be okay to veg with those or should to get new cfl's from the cool spectrum? Also, I have two 33watt GE bright stiks, and I found two GE Gro-and-Sho cool spectrum tubes and a 26watt cool spectrum cfl if those would help.

the cfls you got there will bring you thru veg grow just fine, that is plenty of light to start with. but for flowering i would suggest you to get a HPS sys or you will end with empty smoke...

why do you want only to grow a single plant to harvest by the way?? but much of a fuss for just a lonely plant, and don't you know that they should be always kept in pair (regardless of their sex)?;)

I would, but this will be a stealth grow in a tight space. Besides, it's my first grow, and I want to get the hang of things before spending any real money on this.

just messing with you pal, that is only for pets like rabbits but not for plnts, even if i think that plants like company too, or don't you like company sometimes?;)

to the cfls you will be using, keep them low - like right above the tops of the plants or they will stretch and grow to high or the steams will even crack... which is nasty but some plants even survive this if you patch them up with straws:) tough stuff that cannabis;)

if you have some floro tubes handy, you may put them vertical on the side walls and the cfls horizontal above, still not really enough light to flower with but better then nothing. the pot you end up with will be like mexican, but we can't ask for everything without HPS, or?;)

Ok. I was expecting to need to buy some more cfl's for the flowering, but I'm not really sure how many I should get later on.

well there is a thumb-calculation that you get for ever W with cfls about 100 or lumen's or so, and with MH 120 and with HPS about 140. for descent flowering you will need whopping 40,000-50,000 lumen's. that is to do great and about what a 400W HPS will give you ruffly. if you go below that, it will probably take longer and you will less potential and bud out of it.

so you should look what you will be going to pay for 300-600W in floros and cfls, and what you going to pay for 250-600 in HPS and normal HPS will come cheaper...
