Should I Be Wearing Sunglasses?

Just upgraded from CFL's to a 600 watt HPS today...and loving it!

But should I be protecting my eyes from the light or is it safe while I'm tending my babies?

wear sunglasses. I think i read somewhere that the HPS puts off harmful UVA or something rays (someone will correct me) thats harmful to human eyes. it wont blind you quickly but years of exposure will. and growing is addictive, something people usually do for years.

so yeh wear sunglasses dont take the risk.

wear sunglasses, its always smart to protect your eyes in bright light. i need to get a pair of sunglasses...i always have a spot in the middle of my view for a while after i tend to the garden, i know that cant be good.

i dont have shades but i should. it's to the point where i don't even see spots any more, my eyes just adjust immediately when i shut the door. i don't want my eyes changing. i'm sure there's a good reason why we see the spots. their absence concerns me.

Wow, I was just thinking yesterday that my light didn't seem as bright to me anymore. It used to blind me, now, not so much.

lol well that cant be good. my lights still blind me just as much as the first day i got em.

the seeing spots thing reminds me of something my doctor told me about your ears ringing...he said if you hear a loud noise and it makes your ears ring, then you've done damage to your ears...maybe the seeing spots runs along those same lines.

Be paranoid wear some shades just to be careful after all lights are bright as hell and i've wondered a couple times if the amout of light from 100 1000watt grow lights in a room if i could go blind be the light of god lol
