Should I be concerned about this plant?

I will keep this simple as I can...Please keep in mind this is my first personal grow.

I picked up a pre-veg fire OG plant at the dispensary 2 weeks ago. Looked like a really good cut and I had to have her!

I did not know much about growing at the time until I brought her home and then realized I had a lot of reading to do.

After reading up I spend almost a week building my custom CFL cabinet and during that time the plant was sitting 24/0 in the kitchen on top of the fridge closest to the kitchen light.

Based on my current situation I decided I had to go the stealth cabinet with CFL's method (1 week later in her home). My setup is as follows: custom built aluminum hood fitted with two Corsair SP120's (http://www.corsair.com/en/cpu-cooling-kits/air-series-fans/air-series-sp120-high-performance-edition-high-static-pressure-120mm-fan.html) one fan mounted right above my lights and one fan mounted at the back of the cabinet and together pulling out the hot air; 3 42W 6500K CFL's (2,650 lumens each) in center with two 23W 2700K (1,800 lumens each) on the sides to mix the sprectrum, completely mylar the inside and mini vornado fan for ventilation, AcuRite wireless forcaster with temperature (indoor and outdoor) and humidity.

Before transplating her I had noticed some symptoms of overwatering as the leaves had wilted and the coco planter I had her in was not doing any good so I switched her to a black pot with good drainage. The soil is black gold organic (orange lily brand) mixed well with perlite.

On the second day I felt she looked a bit lonely so I picked up a Blue Dream clone at another dispensary.

I measured the average temp and humidity and my high-low temp averages 78-82F and high-low humidity averages from 38%-45%.

By the third day I was happy to see the fire OG starting to show signs of new growth and the Blue dream clone had completely stood up!

By the 4th day I could already see new shoots coming out of the stems.

I have to say it is exciting to see the plants grow day by day. I have been spraying them with neem oil, dish soap and water mix because I do not know if my eyes are playing tricks on me (have to get a magnifying glass tomorrow) there seems to be a couple of potential spider mites (although I am not sure) I am spraying neem oil every few days.

Now here is where I am concerned about my fire OG plant (blue dream looks fine by the way) -

I have noticed a bunch of new leaves growing on the fire OG plant (see below), but the middle leaf seems to be deformed on some and even bleached in some instances (pictures below). Does this look like a spider mite issue, nutrient deficiency, or genetic to anyone? I would greatly appreciate any help as I would like to take action fast.

Note: The fire OG first water after planting was incidentally from my kitchen sink which I tested the pH of the next day and was pretty high (around maybe 7.0-8.5). Since then I have bought distilled water with a pH closer to 6.0 and watered both plants thoroughly today. Do you guys think this is something to be concerned about? The guy at the dispensary recommended some clonex or some sort of light nute to help strengthen them.... Other than this leaf tip deformation and slight white color they are growing pretty well. Not sure - Please help.

Here is a video of my overall setup - I figured it will be a lot more helpful visually if anyone can offer insight on whether my plant is okay or if there is an apparent issue I need to resolve asap...

I'm not sure about any deformation, but you are correct and have some serious spider mite damage on the leaves. There's lots of info in the plant problems, bugs sub thread you can read. Be sure to check it out! Appreciate your excitement, good luck with your new setup and taking out the bugs! :) Welcome to the forums too.

Thanks Holylander - So should I ditch the plant at this point or just keep going with the neem oil and hopefully by flowering time it will be under control? The blue dream doesn't seem affected yet - I have been spraying neem oil since I got that one so I am not sure if I should just ditch the fire OG or give it a chance...

Also should I clip the lower leaves on the fire OG? is it safe to clip the lower fan leaves?

Don't ditch the plant yet, try to get the bug problem down. I saw you posted a new thread where people can help, also Google 'spider mites cannabis' and you will get a lot of info to help kill the bugs. Cutting off leaves will not stop the mites, don't remove the leaves. Neem oil in solution, maybe a hot pepper homemade mix etc. Google will have many tips. Just don't spray before putting them under lights, it will burn the leaves.

If you are concerned about your grow area, kill the bugs on the plants then clean out the grow area with some chemical or something. You don't need to wait months. Once you kill the bugs you can put the plants where you had them before your area was ready for a day or 2 while you clean the grow area. You are still in veg, you can be flexible with how much light they get. Don't be discouraged, bugs are normal for plants, you are not reinventing the wheel. Use the info you gather to get them tackled. Good luck.
