Short space...was considering a tent but....

Hi

I have a 8 foot by 6 foot area roughly that is under the stairs (5 foot 6 clearance) and it is attached to a 6 x 6 room in an L shape.

I was going to get a 4 x 8 shorty Gorilla tent or a 5 x 5 short tent from growlights and shove it in there but i got thinking hey i have mylar and 6 sheets of drywall (moldtough) and lumber is cheap.

If I framed in a box and wired it with a GFI 15 amp circuit and cut a hole to exhaust the 6 inch filter (and put an intake that uses a furnace filter)

Is there anything else i need to consider?

I will use ambient RH and a dehuey if required.

It is either 1 big flower room or 3 tents. (2 x 5 square feet and whatever i can measure up and fit or that 4 x 8 shorty tent and my other 2 tents).

My 4 foot tent is 6 1/2 feet tall and the space is only 5 foot 6. So cutting 1 foot off of the poles might work but im leaning to a room with a door. Like a hobbit house of greenery.

If you cut the poles, then your tent fabric will still be too large for your poles?

I didn't see you mention air in-take anywhere. Passive or Active.

I would go with mylar over a tent if given the option.

Having multiple rooms is a nice perk, especially for perpetual grows.

I would have wrinkly tent that is all fucked up.

It will pull the air through a 6 inch filter from the basement and extract it outside. I would also go to a 10 or 12 inch filtration system if necessary.

I might still go gorilla tent 4 x 8 shortty and keep the 2 small tents for veg. I am undecided at this time.

Don't know if it helps you decide but when I passed on my 8x4 tent to a mate I couldn't find the corners so I had to buy some universal replacements, turns out they were not universal and they made the tent shorter in all dimensions, that made the fabric slack and that made the tent unstable and didn't have the strength to hold much up without falling about.
Luckily I eventually found the original corners , but point is its a bad idea to cut th poles and have slack fabric.
You can get low profile tents and loft tents but with restricted space I would just build something and make the most of your space.

I was looking at noticed the 4x8 short is 5'11" (to 6'11"). However the 4x4 is 4'11"(to 5'11"). So you could get two 4" x 4" x 4'11" tents. Then it would fit nicely without any Frankenstein tents :P.

i am leaning tents. They are nice and separate. So if you got PM or gnats or whatever its one not 2. I think i will do that.

Maybe you can just seal that whole area off with a zipper door and call it a grow? maybe toss up some panda film.

Forget about the tents just get some mylar and cover everything. If it's under the stairs this will allow you to maneuver much easier than with multiple tents in there. If you have a large closet in the house use it for veg and use this space for flower.

I can put a veg tent in my furnace room and make this a flower room. I will probably do that and just put a door on it
