Couldnt resist ordering this and wanted to share it here for anyone considering buying into one of these short path distillation kits that are so outrageous in price and often so poor in quality. From what I've seen its basic labware marked up 300% and marketed on youtube in infomercials to people looking to cash in on this new trend of the clear.
Dont fall for the sales pitches. Education is power

$125 Layboy glass. Short path condenser vacuum jacketed viragex indents. Nice angle in the collum. One source and genius paths are arguably to long for this process.
heavy duty glass. Very thick walls.
Cow reciever is $30. With or without hose connection
Imersion thermometer $14
This is comparable in size to what comes in the 2liter kit from most places.
It will be a while before I can experiment with it. I have to much work to do and other ways to fraction. I already have an old short ace glass short path i purchased in the early 90's. Never used it with cannabis oil.
But with cannabis distillates driving up the cost of these particular pieces of glass i couldnt resist this possible diamond in the rough. Hope it helps someone

You can buy a non jacketed short path condenser for around $50 and mimic the jacket simply by wrapping the collum in aluminum foil.you just don't get to watch the vapors in the collum.

Its not an extractor its just a small viragex fractioning collum with an atteched liebig condenser. All in one compact package.its for distilling high boiling point compounds with hot vapor temps under vacuum.
Been around for a long time in several variations. Ive used one for other compounds for a long time.
These have only recently made popular because they can be used to separate cannabis oils into fractions and make clear 100% thc oil. Although using this particular piece and process is a very inefficient and difficult method
Probably the most so
I'll give it a try when I get a chance

ok,so it's used for fractional distillation.is fractional distillation separating cbd, thc, and terps from one another?or is fractional just another step to a 'cleaner'oil end product?probably shouldn't even be on this thread lol , and im not looking to get into the fractional part of distillation.

The angle is ok but the vacum port behind the water lines is now deleted on most glass ware and is on the back end of the cow

Is that the 5l $700 or the 2l $400 one?
How much was their cow?
I see a few places selling that particular glass. MYglass brand i believe. Or was it Lg? i cant remember.
All these guys approached different manufacturers and locked in deals with them for short path distillation kits that they were already making. They all talk about how their design is special for cannabis but its pretty much just what that particular glass makers design was already
