Short and Fat is where it’s at….

So I posted a couple months ago asking if it was worth it to keep growing this extremely stunted auto. I ran into some sort of issue right after it sprouted and at the 18-20 day mark I had a 3” tall seedling that was yellow and almost dead.
I moved it to a different setup and kept it around while I popped more seeds. She took off and grew great…for about a week. Then she started flowering.
The strain is CdLC (Mephisto) and it’s powerful stuff. Smells like some sort of grape flavored industrial chemical cleaner crossed with burning rubber.
She finished at day 94….and I was hoping it would yield an oz of dried bud since she was all of 9” tall. Well I think I’ll get that plus some. She was so compact it was tough to differentiate between the different colas.
Anyway, short and fat is where it’s at. 2E894EDC-17EA-47CE-BD34-86829A7C8461.jpegF6C32780-61F1-4A64-BD79-1EC9BCA291D7.jpeg18CFD9D0-7AAD-4554-8C25-57BC89D6C45C.jpeg

My CDLC was a lot bigger, but looked exactly like yours. Mephisto is a really good auto breeder. I have or had just about every strain they dropped, and not 1 disappointed. Sometimes you get monster sized autos, sometimes you get runts like yours, but the quality is the same and consistent, and that's enough to keep me coming back.

Yes I have nothing but good things to say about the strain and genetics. The size of the plant is all my fault. I started this plant and a couple other strains in Light Warrior soil. For some reason none of the seedlings liked it and they just sat there and turned yellow. I am usually pretty good with seedlings and know I didn’t over or underwater. They just didn’t care for the Light Warrior and were damned near dead at 2.5 weeks.
I tossed several but decided to keep this one and move it into a different mix. From there it took off and grew like mad…but As autos do, she started flowering and this is what I was left with. I’m glad I kept it.

Light warrior is meant to germinate seeds that are sensitive to a nutrient rich soil. It's used to germinate in solo cups then about a week after the seedling peeks it's best to transplant to a richer soil. It's normal for a seedling to yellow after 2 1/2 weeks in light warrior if not fed. It can be fed but it's probably best to transplant within a week after the seedling pops.

boy did I learn that the hard way. I still have a couple CdLC seeds and the next time I do an auto grow they’ll be in the game. It’s def some dank nasty stuff…..smells like something really really bad that’s being covered up with something fruity and chemical. I can tell it gonna be a stout smoke.

I can say that I’ve watched the weight evaporate by the day and actually measured it. I read somewhere that it would lose 90% of what it’s going to lose in the first 4 days, although I couldn’t say if that’s accurate.
I trimmed all the big stuff and hung it in 4 sections, which weighed in at 243g fresh off the plant. I didn’t weigh it after day 1 but at the end of day 2, actually close to 2.5 days, it weighed 96.3g.
Yesterday evening was the 3 day mark and it was down to 77.1g…..and just a few minutes ago, which is 4 full days plus a few hours, it was at 68.9g…
Granted there is probably 8-10g of stem and trim leaf that will come off the total……although I weighed some dried stems once and it was a lot lighter than I thought it would be.
So if I end up w/ 50g of dried and tightly manicured nuggets I’ll be a lot better off than many.

I was just thinking of all the failed grows that I’ve seen…a couple of my own included.
Basically I’m thankful to have a relatively modest yield in light of the other possibilities, which include no yield at all.
Sorry if I was unclear or if I came off another way. Cheers
