I'll never understand people who buy single fem seeds. It's not like every seed is gonna be the same you need a lot of girls to select from to get the best of any line.

There are a lot of reasons for doing it. If my explanation in post #18 doesn't provide enough understanding, I would also retort that not everyone is looking for the "best" of every strain, but want to try several different strains and assume the genetics will provide something "good enough". If not, they are willing to take that loss.

It might not be your way, but you should at least have understanding.

Is having a limited amount of money really so hard to understand?

It's not like every seed is gonna be the same you need a lot of girls to select from to get the best of any line.
Let me explain.

Nobody is buying single ceeds to isolate the best possible pheno from a given line; that's not the point of the exercise.

You're buying single ceeds so that you can get some sense of a wide variety of lines on a limited budget. If you want to try five different stains, that's a several hundred dollar investment, with a high likelihood that out of those five packs, there will be 1 or more entire strains that you don't like and won't want to grow again.

If instead, you buy five different single ceeds, although your per ceed cost may be a little bit higher, the risk of the overall exercise is a lot lower. For the same amount of money as only one full pack, buying single ceeds will let you try out multiple different stains.

On actual selection, if you're choosing actual strains (not unstable pollen chucks by salesmen posing as breeders) one ceed may not give you the absolute best possible pheno, but it should at least give you a reasonably good representation of the strain. At that point, if you like it, you can get a full pack or three to look for the best pheno.

I grow under a 400w mh/hps in a closet, and I do the single pick n mix. I've had some real winners too. I don't have the real estate to run more than 4 smaller strains at once. Plus I like a selection of flavors, so I don't get bored and burnt on the same shit. That's my reasoning behind using feminized singles.

your not getting any sense of a line with one seed period as I'll get a few pheno's I really don't care for the taste of and some that are down right amazing all in the same pack theirs never one that's the same. Also its not about money the guy said in another thread he makes good money selling weed the guy is a noob stop acting like he knows what he's doing you sound stupid by explaining what a noobie grower does and trying too make it sound like a good thing. All your doing is spreading misinformation on a shit way to judge a line but then again you grew schwag. lol

You guys are bound by your egos and are not open to understanding. That kind of close-mindedness will never bring you peace.

“It does take great maturity to understand that the opinion we are arguing for is merely the hypothesis we favor, necessarily imperfect, probably transitory, which only very limited minds can declare to be a certainty or a truth.”

I like how certain people come into threads and start calling people noobs. I'd put my expertise in growing up against almost anyone.

To counter your dipshit arguments, I'm not about to make a freakishly big order. That is how you get caught. Maybe ill reorder a strain in the future... But just bc you guys didnt get any pussy from your non existent gfs doesn't mean you come on here and rage.

oh and I got this order today. No issues at all. Thanks herbies.

also, if you're going to try to sound smart.. You're is you are.. Your is your.

If its a properly stabilized line, absolutely you will.

Admittedly, inbred lines seem to have fallen out of popularity (probably because it actually takes time real work to create them, with marketing being much cheaper/easier for the breeders), but
there are plenty of strains out there where every ceed in a pack will give you a similar plant.

EG, I've grown the Williams Wonder in my sig multiple times now, and not only is every plant I've grown highly similar to each other, they're also virtually identical to the breeders' pictures. I wouldn't presume to say that you'll like it or that its for you, but I think I can say with a pretty good degree of confidence that if you try growing it, you WILL get a good representation of the genetics even from just one female plant chosen at random.

And of course there are any number of others where this is true, too.

as I'll get a few pheno's I really don't care for the taste of and some that are down right amazing all in the same pack theirs never one that's the same. Also its not about money the guy said in another thread he makes good money selling weed the guy is a noob stop acting like he knows what he's doing you sound stupid by explaining what a noobie grower does and trying too make it sound like a good thing. With due respect, the guy asking the question isn't a noob, and neither am I. Yeah, I made a report on a 14 year old ceed. Were you even growing 14 years ago? Somehow I doubt it.

Just because you've never grown anything from a real breeder who's bred a stable line doesn't mean that nobody else has or that these things don't exist.

Of course growing one ceed isn't the "best" way to judge a line, especially if you're talking about highly unstable "mutt" genetics from the current crop of barely-breeders. But not everyone has the space, money, patience, or legal ability to grow out multiple packs at once. If you can only grow one or a few plants at once, this is the ONLY way to judge a line!

You said "I'll never understand people who buy single fem seeds.", and I explained why it might make sense to do that. Of course its not *purely* about the money, it actually costs MORE money to buy single ceeds than whole packs. Its about minimizing risk and maximizing variety.

That's a smart man that just posted..

i ordered strains that have shown stable genetics. Most have 2 or 3 phenos.

Once again, I did my research.

and I could have gotten 2 or 3 but my order couldn't have had variety as I don't order too many seeds in one order. Risky.

I ordered I think the same day u did been growing off and on for 15 years. I do the EXACT same thing. I like to test different genetics and if I like em, I will buy more. I tend to grow 5 or 6 strains at a time, and have only found one that I like to keep in rotation. G13 Blue venom. Bought 3 the first time about 4 years ago. ALL 3 were identical. I bought a couple this year and guess what - EXACTLY the same!

I do the pick n mix, I have anywhere between 1 to 5 of any particular strain I have, and I currently have 32 different strains! (not including the 5 different autos I have for a future experiment).

I have already germed part of that order! I popped 4 of em with 100% success. 1x THC Bomb, 1x Cherry Bomb, 1x G13 Blue Venom (lol) and 1x BCBD The Purps.

I mean truly.. If you have to get 10 seeds to get your pheno... There's no consistency there at all.
Completely agree with you.
