Hey guys just thought I would throw my 2 cents in i have grown autos outdoor multiple times and have never had mold as long as u get good quality seeds and choose your spot right u should have no problems I think that as far as adding nutes when flowering is crazy if u use good soil like a ffof ffhf 50/50 mix with perlite in 3 gallon pots for first month with minimal nutes week 3 and 4 indoor then put outdoor directly in the ground and mother nature will provide all the nutes u need,or u can grab some time release flowering fert. And sprinkle everywhere. Also I have done a lot of research on autos probably 2 years worth no joke and most people who say that autos are not potent or a waste of time either didn't care for them properly or had some shit seeds,or just simply never grown them b4 Autos have come a long way and can produce an ounce or 2 of quality chronic relatively quickly
What part of the states do you live on. Mid westerners and guys from florida have totally different climates. Being from the rainy northwest im curious as to how the autos would do when their in such humid nights and mornings.

Hey guys, little update on my previous reply of growing autos outdoors and how I was setting up a auto green house grow.. So, my soil is ready, green house is up, garden bed and 5 gallon pots are ready, and I started the seeds 2 days ago now, will check a little later and I'm expecting tap roots. I popped 7x AutoUltimates 4x AutoMazars and 4x Fantasamo Express. If you guys are interested in seeing some autos grown outdoors I am starting a grow journal in the outdoor section today and you are all welcome to follow along and see first hand how they do outdoors.

Agreed... Bud rot is the biggest problem with auto outdoor... Its 90's here in daytime n high humidity in summer... Intense sun... This year I'm going to put shade cloth over them.

I do see on some auto strains now they advertise bud rot resistance.
That would be my problem. 100+ in the summer with high humidity, the kind that makes your balls stick to your leg. Swamp ass humidity.

Mids aren't worth shit here..nobody wants them.. If it ain't killer its worthless to me... I've ran autos the last 2 summers just as a bumper crop til the real stuff finishes in October..very unimpressed.. Hope that changes this year.
That the thing about here. Its illegal and only doodoo weed around. As long as its mids or better you can get 10-20 a gram.

Of course I don't sell though.

I got burned last year, growing more autos than photos. I lost most of my autos to mold during a week long wet period in late July. It's been a constant trial and error to find strains that will do well in my neck of the woods. The search continues.

I lost three think different autos in July too the we're five weeks in flower going with Inc bulk this year and critical plus 2.0 for my photo period plants..there good with mould resistance.

Autos have a very limited 'growth' period, unlike photos, which you can throw outside pretty much any time after freeze and it doesnt matter if they grow for a few weeks, if the soil is too cold yet or for whatever reason. Once autos are above ground, the clock is ticking, so they need ideal conditions to really take off. Also autos dont get tall, so going to great lengths to hide them is largely unnecessary. They work great in any brushy area, Id avoid planting near or even worse under large trees. Im at 47deg and Ive seen nice autos grown from seed that werent planted until mid june. Dig your holes at least a few weeks before you plant, there is a good chance animals will mess with them after you dig them. When you get back, stick your hand into the dirt, if its cold, dont plant yet. Cool is ok, but if its brr cold like you wouldnt wanna keep your hand there for long, wait another week and check again. If you wanna plant seedlings or seeds, find some 30+oz clear/opaque plastic cups, big gulp or whatever. Cut the bottom off and put the cup upside down over your plant, about 2 inches into the soil, water the soil around the cup to hold it in place. This will act as a greenhouse, providing additional warmth and also blocking insects and cutworms from accessing the plants. They will eventually grow right out the top and this barrier can also help prevent slug/rodent damage, no reason to remove them before harvest.

I have the temps, but not the humidity. Shade cloth did help when it was brutal.

That and the damn bud worms. They have been bad for the last 4 summers here. Damn moths!
