dont see too many people on RIU postin pics of auto dwarfs, so i figured i'd give it a shot. my grow is of dutch passion's Taiga. little one is only a few weeks old, the bushy girl was started about mid march. really happy with plants overall health and durability, but odor control has definitely become an issue! a good plant if you have high quality filters! so what do ya think? got pics, info, stories to share about this auto strain or any other?

Here is a few pics of a Low Ryder 2 dwarf.
I harvested a little early and got just 14 grams dry.
It does stink a lot! The single plant stunk up the whole house severely.
I really like growing these but got to find a better way to ventilate the closet.

very cool squarepusher... nice pics too. that close up pic of a bud is awesome. glad you mentioned the intense odor from LR2, as i was thinking of trying her next. it's amazing how such a small plant can reak so badly! i did find a strain of northern lights that says in it's description that it's perfect for gardens where odor control is a must. let me know if your interested. it's a full size, regular plant, but you can get more yield out of it, and probably have less odor than with the autos.
the auto taiga's i have going supposedly can produce 30grams a plant, but i'd be happy with 20-25. have you tried any other autos besides LR2 ? lookin
to try out a different auto strain other than LR2?

i just decided to go ahead and FIM the smaller of my two plants.... this should give me a better yield. i did it early in veg. stage so she should recover and reward
me with nice FAT nugs! i just recently harvested a full size plant that i had fimmed, and her main colas were freakin huge! at least the size of a pop can ! it'll
be interesting to see how the little gal grows now after being cut....

Forget FIM, try this!
(I just did it to one of my little gals and it's working great!)

inquisitve... i checked out your link... seems like fimming and the topping method described in that link are about the same thing, no? fimming results in 4 main colas, as does that topping method. so you followed his directions and let your plant get 5-6 nodes, then topped it above second node? that would be like cutting more than half of the plant off, right?

Basically i snipped over 2/3 of my 16" plant off, i did this because i wanted a shorter plant and liked the idea of having 4 colas. The plant was thin and tall and stretching too much for my taste so i took the plunge and it's working great so far.

Not trying to take this thread in another direction though, just wanted to share an experience i had with a recent action similar to FIM.

I want to see and read more about the LR's!!

lol, ok, so i just took my little plant and attempted the uncle ben's method. each set of leaves that branches out from main stem has 1 node each. so 2 nodes would be directly above the first set of nodes correct?

After growing 5 or 6 sets of nodes, the link from Uncle Ben (Tito), suggests cutting after the second set of 'true' nodes. Remember that first set of nodes are merely a food supply or like training wheels.

It's all in the thread man, read the whole thing if you need to, it's a very good read. You will get a lot out of it.

I want more Low Ryder pics and info though!!!!!!

lol- yea well, i cut after 2 sets of nodes so we shall see how she comes out. and there's more autodwarfs out there than LR! i think in the near future you will see
ridiculous amounts of autos from tons of much loved strains.... i'm looking forward to it :)

Alright these pics are from last season when i grew diesel ryders, they were grown in pots outside. I have grown lowryder #2's before and i gotta say lowryder#2 have no smell compared to these diesel ryders, the stench is unreal. Alright the first pic is from week 4 when i just pollinated them with a stinky male, then the rest of the pics go in order from youngest to oldest. I ended up pollinating all the females so you don't get to see what the seedless bud looks like but you get an idea of the growth pattern. All of them just grew one big fat cola.

Wow, those are gorgeous Grizzly.
Motivation for sure.

Just wondering about how the uncle Ben thread would be with 4 colas on those bad boys?!!

that's a good point inquisitive... but i was thinking that any topping method whether fim or UB's could have a negative affect on a dwarf. manufacturer says the plant only veg's for 14 days... so by topping, etc. you temporarily slow growth rate and i'm not sure if a dwarf will have time to completely recover. i understand they grow a little more when in flowering stage, but is that going to be enough to actually recieve benefit of topping? i suppose i will find out soon enough, as i just topped my little baby Taiga.... but i'm just throwing that opinion out there...maybe i'm crazy. i did have alot of issues with my larger plant in the beginning due to
improper ph, and her growing time was stunted for at least 2 weeks, and if you look at the pics of her now, she's flourishing. someone out there must've tried
topping on these dwarfs already, no?
