I have read about some people doing this, but I don't like the idea. Taking a clone isn't that bad, there are a lot of different methods. The easiest I have found is to take two plastic cups that are the same size, cut holes in the bottom of one and put hydroton in the other, just enough to Seperate the two cups when the one with holes is set into the other. Mix coco up with a 1/4 strength solution of rhizotonic or seaweed extract and 1/4 strength nutrient solution. Fill the cup with the holes in it with the coco mix. Put a cutting dipped into rooting gel directly into a hole poked into the coco mix cup, push the sides in onto the stem, then water lightly with pure water until water drips from the first cup into the one with hydroton. You shouldn't need to water it more than once a week, but just lightly until it starts to drip out, keep the drain water cup empty... It will help to put the cup in a humid dome or place a large transparent container over it for a few days. It will form roots within two weeks, and it is a.breeze to care for, I have 100% success with this method, you could probably take the clone the same day it was cut and put it into 12/12 and get a sex in about 2/3 weeks. In the mean time you can take dozens of clones at the same time, if the one in flower turns out to be male, just pull the clones out, keep the cups and trash the cuttings and the male host plant. It shouldnt take any more time out of your schedule than just forcing sex on your mother plant.
