Yes. It's a very common method.
Another method (if you have two separate areas) is snip clones from the existing plants, label everything, and flower the originals. Remove the males in flower along with their clones you took, then leave the females in flower. You now have flowering plants and remaining known female clones to start vegging for next round.

some people do 12/12 from seed with no veg time...depends how big u want the plants to be it is possible to switch to 12/12 to show sex then revert back to veg but it can stress the plants a lot and they might hermie.....i have actually done this recently with sin city seeds and the plants are doing just fine
