are you planning on labeling which seeds (curled or straight) are in which pots?

yes i'm planning on making this a full on science project for myself. cause i would like to know if my dad and that other old guy is correct or not. i usually only use the curly ones but i would like to know if it even makes a difference. so to i guess "re-answer" your question yes i plan on color coding everything and lableing which is which.
maiking it as controled as possible.

:) should be fun

maybe all results are good results in the end...

the main question was...to quote.... "My question is, has anyone heard this before, or ever noticed a corilation between the tap root's action upon germination and plant sex? Do ya'll think it is plausible in the least? I was extremely doubtful when I first heard it, but after seeing all ten of my fem seeds curl I now think there just might be something to it. Perhaps someone who is starting an indoor grow from seed soon could note if the roots curls, and what sex the plants turn out."

*the root tip has to curl around the seed* that is how my dad and this old guy explained it

so just looking to see if there is any truth or corilations to back this old timer theory up. ......cause why would they do it if it didnt work?

the straight tap roots on the females show this to not be true.
why do people continue to do anything that isn't proven to work? good question - if you figure that one out - let me know!

how long did you let yours germ? maybe if you let them germ longer they will eventually either curl over itself or be completely straight. I know mine were longer than what you have in your pics when I planted them and some curled and some didn't.

You also don't have to be so obviously rudely sarcastic? We're not stupid here, just high. :joint:

"when the seed pops and the tap root comes out, if it shoots out straight it is probably a male, but if it curls over itself, it's definitely a bitch."
I'm not arguing for the legitimacy of this method, but that doesn't disprove what he said. Now if they had all curled over themselves (not just been a little curly like a pigs tail like some people are thinking) and had all turned out male then it would disprove it.

I agree. Just because they didn't curl doesn't prove it's a male. I haven't seen where anyone had a curled root and it was male. That is what we want to know. I'll try this myself on my next grow.
