This was my first plant, so I just want to make very sure it's a male before I destroy him.

Confirmed. Male kill the bastard, or grow him until right before the pollen sacs open, hack him n make some hash or hash oil

sorry dude its a male, just as everyone here has told you. there are 2 things you can do with it. kill it now, or save the pollen and later use it to make seeds when you get a female plant.

some advice for the future, if you didnt test your ph while growing this plant, make sure you do it next time. its really easy to test the ph of your soil, and it makes a world of difference.

good luck, and dont worry.. you grew a cannabis plant all the way through your first time. congrats, most people who try their first times kill the plant very quickly lol. now just do the same thing again and try to keep your ph around 6.5-6.7

@cell - I just went to the hydro shop for the first time on friday, picked up the soil checker. So all my future plants will have balanced PH and nutes. Learned that the hard way, but I am pretty happy I got them as far as I did.
