Also got any tips for the lights? Atm im using 1/6 of the power i have

Ok so add 150ppm of cal-mag, then add nutrients so it adds up to about 850-900ppm and keep a close eye?
In flower I would go full power at 18".

In veg I would go half that power at most, but you don't really need that with such a small plant taking up a small area.
Make sure your air temps are 80-85f. If that means using both lights at higher power then raise them considerably, other wise just use one board until your plant is bigger.

I don't think its a light burn issue.

I would want to rule out broad mites, though not showing all the symptoms they are showing some and if it were just calcium I would of thought it would show higher up the plant.

Broad mites is not something I have ever had to deal with personally.

I don't think the problem has been addressed yet. Brown slime in a hydro grow is algae and chokes off roots. All the changes in the world won't help. I don't think the plants will survive and the grower says they had a light leak. This will cause algae growth. I'd start over and sterilize everything as much as possible and make sure there's no more light leaks.

Thanks for the tips, the reason i thought it was light burn was that the leaf curled upwards kinda like it was exposed to heat stress.

I dont really fancy starting over without attempting my damnest in saving it. I will check for the brown slug now

Ok changed res now.

Uhm i got two different kinds of GHE, could be whats causing the sludge? On website it said it was the same thing. I got flora series grow and micro and tripart bloom

Anyway there was some sludge in this res change also, roots was coated in it. I rinsed the roots a bit, but not fully. I changed the res, added cal-mag 150ppm worth, and nutes. I had around 600ppm before i ph'd it and i had to add some extra water to up the ph a bit.

Got 5.5 ph now and 500ppm.

I boosted one of the lights to max also.

It's possible for dark colored nutrients to stain roots and make them look bad. However, if you can actually see slime or sludge on roots and in water, then it's probably a life form, usually algae. the growth on roots prevents the plant from taking up nutrients.

40h or so after res change and i got orange/brownish foam coming again :( it looks a bit like one of the nutes are congealing. Im thinking of buying new nutes to try, anyone got some tips on that?

If not anyone got some tips on how to clean the tank properly without peroxide?

Plant is still looking relatively good, new growth looking nice but old one is deteriorating so im starting to face that i might need to restart. But i wish to find out whats causing my problems tho

Bleach. Can be used. I’ve always used 1-10 bleach to water when I’ve got no H2o2
